I've been having a very intermittent problem with my throttle cutting out. Usually it does it for a split second and then is good again.
It hasn't thrown a code lately but a few weeks ago it was a dead pedal and my driver had to limp it home about 15 miles. That time it did throw a few codes and he it got into the shop and I hooked up to Insite.
Of course I wasn't smart enough to write down the codes before deleting but I remember that it was giving me a "+5v code".
I cleaned well around the pedal area and wiggled wires around engine bay up to firewall and from sensor to floor... and then it was working again.
Was good for about a month and then it started cutting in/out again a few days ago.
So I figured I'd start with changing the sensor...but dealer said I have to change the whole pedal assembly at a cost of $2500!?!?
I can see the sensor with two screws on the side of the pedal...does anybody know if it can be changed? And what the part number would be for that sensor??
I called a few part places and no one seems too be able to help.

You can ck the hinge on pedal that can wear out but may if it doesn't move much, just need cleaning up, and the new tps you can buy from Ebay, screwed on the cleaned up pedal should save you big bucks?
skman Thanks this. -
Can't see a number on the sensor so I may have to remove it to see if the number is on the bottom side.
If it stops working...I could test the voltage up to the sensor but it's so intermittent. When it does it lately...it happens quick and then immediately starts working again. -
Cummins? Sure could be the sensor, but due to the intermittent nature it could very well be a wiring rub all the same.
Thorough inspection of the wiring from the pedal to the engine ECM at all metal contact points. Inside and outside the cab. The wiring will be 2 separate groups of 3 wires that are twisted. Green, purple and blue. The ladder brackets or wiring supports on the LR of the engine are hot spots for issues. But I have also found rubs inside.
Pretty sure the TPS is available separate thru Williams controls. I will dig for it on Monday and see about a number.

skman, spsauerland and stuckinthemud Thank this. -
The newer dual sensor hall effect style TPS are pretty durable. Most issues I have had with them is wires rubbed in engine bay.

Not sure if you need my whole VIN but the last 6 are - 330730
I'm leaning towards a wire problem tho. I'm going to start digging into it and see if I can see any rubsGoodysnap Thanks this. -
The sensor is not available separately on your pedal.
skman and spsauerland Thank this. -
Good morning I hope this is allowed trying to figure out how to use this forum. I recently had my isx3 rebuilt and since the rebuild I have had this pedal problem as well except mine is so bad the engine light comes on then the stop engine light comes on and then she pretty much just idles on the side of the road going about 10 miles an hour. I was lucky enough to be able to change the sensor and the wiring I'm just wondering if they did something with my wiring under the hood that has created this problem I can run for about a day with no issue and then from there on out it's downhill. I have cleaned out my pedal the codes that it threw were total PT hours zero total fuel hours zero primary level fuel and sensor open. Any help would be greatly appreciated
