My father and I currently have a 2016 Freightliner Cascadia (Last 8 of VIN: GSHM9927) that came with dual 100 gallon tanks that we want to upgrade to dual 150 gallon tanks.

The stock tanks are by my best measurement 25 inches in diameter and 47 inches long with the replacement 150 tanks coming in at 25 inches in diameter and 72 inches long.

The problem we are facing is about roughly a foot behind the stock fuel tanks is the support bracket for the side fairing. My father and I don't want to lose the fairing so I am looking for either the last 8 or 6 digits of a VIN from a same generation Cascadia that came with dual 150 gallon tanks and side skirts or parts numbers for the replacement skirt brackets that would need.

If there are any other parts that I am missing beyond the tank and these brackets feel free to include those as well. I have tapped out all of my dealer resources and even looking on the used truck market its next to impossible to find a rig with this specific tank configuration to rip a VIN or parts or parts numbers from.

I got to ask a simple probably obvious and stupid question, but did you call Freightliner to ask them about the parts needed?

Yes went to both dealers in my area and got the same answer. Without at least a VIN from a rig that was originally equipped with 150's and skirts they are just a blind as I am in trying to navigate what parts are needed.

Wow that is crazy. I tried a quick google search but can't find a truck that is a 2016 with those size tanks for sale. You could try calling Vander Haag's. They deal a lot with used parts and they may know what you might need.

Tried them as well and while they had the tanks the best info they could give me was they were off of trucks with out skirts.

I've run out of companies to reach out to hence why I am reaching out here in hopes of finding someone that may have a rig that I could use as a reference at least. I'm frustrated that Freightliner's parts system doesn't have exploded parts diagrams at least for this kind of thing or parts descriptions that are detailed enough to know what I am looking at.

    Not sure this would work.
Freightliner dealers have configuring sites to look at ordering new trucks.
If you put in the same spec's you need. Would that get you the parts needed.

Haven't thought of that since post 2017 is a new body style. That said there are some parts commonality between the generations so it might be worth a shot once I can get back to a dealership.
