2013 maxxforce Egr Valve fuse f8-h keeps blowing so we disconnect the valve and find out the fuse no longer breaks. Now I know that egr valve is no good. Is it clean able is it fixable. The egr valve cost 2800 at a dealer. Would it be that the motor on the valve grounded.

I got to it today but I will be opening it tomorrow. Would the motor have grounded on the valve since is blowing the fuse as soon as you plug it. Thanks

I got a new Egr Valve, it was grounded somewhere inside the valve and I have heard that the plug is usually the problem. Anyway 2800 later and 4 hours labour sucks.

I believe the problem with them that heat getting into the electric motor of these and just killing the motor. The dealer dont sell the motor only they want to sell the whole unit and it is very easy to take the unit apart only four bolts.

Same goes for the plunger on the top of the hp fuel pump. They want to sell the whole unit and replace the whole unit at a cost of 6700 cdn. That's unbelievable. I had the problem with mine and just changed the plunger on hp fuel pump and no problem so far.

If these parts go bad so often they should have parts available at dealer to fix the only damage part of the part. Trucks are just becoming like the tractors just take it to the dealer and be ready to pay arm and a leg to fix simple problems.

Where do you get those individual parts?
