2012 Volvo D13 > EGR oil valve line * oil separator *
crankcase oil separator * Blow by oil separator > Leaking Oil
>> one of these may be leaking oil under your truck.
** before you replace one be certain it is not the other part that is leaking oil.
The very best way to see where oil is leaking from is to STEAM the bottom
of your truck and visually see where the oil is leaking from.
Have the guys at Blue Beacon truck wash hit underneath your motor real good!
you will spot the location of your oil leak.
1. EGR Oil Line:
The fix for EGR oil line is 5 to 6 hours labor - because its very difficult to reach as its behind the engine, specialized tools are needed. - YES - the EGR oil line cost is only 40.00, but the Labor is 500 - 600 - FACT
2. Blow by Oil Separator - Crankcase oil separator : (same thing)
This unit has an oil exhaust pipe - where oil will escape when it
fills up and will blow out under your truck when malfunctioning.
This gem costs $1200 now was 600 - this piece is easily accessible.
* Not sure .. if you can open and clean unit, there is a video on youtube where a guy shows how to clean one?
* google - Volvo D13 blow by oil separator cleaning
Any suggestions for others with experience with this - please post
I've already replaced mine but these were the issues i was faced with.
** if you recently had an oil change also look that there is no oil coming out of plug.
