The truck will not go over 55 mph in 9 speed, when pulling a load and it takes a long time to get to that speed, in a ssmall hill it will go down to 25 to 35 mph and 6 to 7th gear, the mechanic said that the computer shows fuel restriction problem and he said that its a fuel pressure regulator valve, but he could not find the location of it?, any thoughts?. any one has a picture of the location. I can not afford to take it to the dealer, the mechanic said the valve itself is $500. all the dashboard gages look normal and have no alarms.

Check your fuel lines and replace - they may have collapsed
Check condition of the fuel that you're using. Make sure that it is clean and is at the right cetane value
Check your air filter - clean or replace
These are cheapRngls Thanks this. -
The computer will not show a fuel restriction problem. It will show low fuel pressure only. With a Maxxforce you have the low pressure supply system and high pressure injection, so it depends on what he says is low. Low pressure fuel delivery regulator is part of the high pressure fuel pump and not replaceable. The high pressure fuel control valve is serviceable.
Rngls, Eddozer and QUALITYTRUCK Thank this. -
Would you happen to have a picture of the High-Pressure Control Valve so I can purchase it and have it replace, I believe you are right and that is the problem, since the "mechanic" Lol said it was high pressure. -
Would that be the High pressure valve?? -
Nope, that controls the fuel pressure to the doser injector. High pressure control valve is on the back of the high pressure fuel pump. The part with the two main fuel lines at the left front corner of the engine sorta tucked in behind the ecm.
Eddozer Thanks this. -
How about this one?. Sorry to bother you.cordiealonso Thanks this. -
