    Hello again,

I am looking to buy a 2010 Freightliner Columbia but i would like your feedback(opinions) before i go for it.

    My questions are

How is the cab insulated(doors all that)

How durable are they with a cat engine(would you go or stay from a cat with a ten speed tranny)?

I heard that service & parts are very expensive than cummins and detroit is that true or false?

    Thank you for your time

My previous company had lots of those. If you ask me they sucked.

Lots of problems. They looked and felt cheap too.

When you drive that mexican truck off the dealers lot it will be worth 50% of what you paid for it. Any more questions?

I'm surprised to see a "2010" model. At MATS, Freightliner said the Columbia was an export only truck. They're down to two models for the domestic market, the Coronado and Cascadia.

Columbia is a "cheaper" (for lack of a better word) version of the Century Class.

There are 2010 Columbia glider kits available. I would put up with the few shortcomings of the Columbia doing the glider kit route: A brand new 2010 truck with a pre-EGR Detroit engine in it. Aerodynamics and the most fuel effecient engine that Detroit ever put out and way more reliable than the newer engines. But if I go the glider kit route in the future, will probably opt for a Coronado instead.

Try to find a new truck spec'd out like this glider kit truck at anywhere near the same price. Can't be done.

I wont denounce the merits of a glider, other that one thing you should consider is that the VIN number will have a "G" which represnents "glider" and will mean even less resale value that other trucks in its class.
