Truck had a miss. Narrowed it down to #5 injector. Replaced injector, put new orings on hipop. It will not start. Runs on ether but dies as soon as ether stops. Replaced both batteries. Checked fuses by batteries. All good. We pulled the ipr and bench tested it. It was working.
Scanner says 8 engine codes. They are:
SID0034
FMI=4 VOLTAGE BELOW NORMAL OR SHORTED TO LOW SOURCE.
SID 34 EXHAUST BACK PRESSURE SENSOR
SPN0175
FMI=3 VOLTAGE ABOVE NORMAL OR SHORTED TO HIGH SOURCE.
SPN175 ENGINE OIL TEMP.
SPN0102
FMI=4 VOLTAGE BELOW NORMAL OR SHORTED TO LOW SOURCE
SPN 102 BOOST PRESSURE.
SPN0100
FMI= 4 VOLTAGE BELOW NORMAL OR SHORTED TO LOW SOURCE.
SPN 100 ENGINE OIL PRESSURE.
SID0155
FMI= 7 MECHANICAL SYSTEM NOT RESPONDING OR OUT OF
SID 155 SYSTEM DIAGNOSTIC CODE #5
SPN0105
FMI= 3 VOLTAGE ABOVE NORMAL OR SHORTED TO HIGH SOURCE.
SPN105 INTAKE MANIFOLD TEMP.
SPN0094
FMI= 4 VOLTAGE BELOW NORMAL OR SHORTED TO LOW SOURCE.
SPN 94 FUEL DELIVERY PRESSURE.
SID0146
FMI= 7 MECHANICAL SYSTEM NOT RESPONDING OR OUT OF
SID 146 EXHAUST GAS RE-CIRCULATION VALVE MECHANISM.
Any help would be appreciated.

Can you clear the codes and recheck them with your scanner? Then all of those come back?
What is your ICP while the starter is spinning the engine?
Look real close at those ICP wires right next to the plug in connectors. -
Do you show cranking RPM with scan tool?
-
Yes we see rpm on the dash and scan tool. -
We can't clear the codes. Scanner isn't capable of seeing icp numbers. We have disconnected the icp and it made no difference. -
Ok more info. We pulled the hipop supply line and put and air fitting on it. We pushed air to the hipop manifold hoping that if it was leaking we would hear it out of the dipstick tube. No air leaks anywhere after pushing air to it for 5 minutes.
Next we put a 5000 psi gauge on the hipop pump. Pegged the gauge after a few revolutions.
We pulled the fuel filter and replaced it. Pumped it up to get the air out and bled the schrader valve. No air in system.
Any suggestions? -
Low or no fuel pressure is one thing the engine will not log a code for. Low or no ICP will log a code during crank no start conditions. So if you are not seeing any icp codes, I would focus on the fuel. Need 20 psi to start, 65 psi when running. Hold your schrader valve open during crank to make sure there is solid fuel flow there. If you have the test fitting on the fuel filter cap, you can check for pressure there too. Even the hand primer pump should be able to build up to 60 psi and get hard.
spsauerland Thanks this. -
Should you be able to hear injectors click when key is turned on? We can place a finger on the injector and we feel nothing. -
The injectors will "buzz test" briefly at key on. If you are not hearing this, then check your injector drive module fuses at the batteries.
spsauerland Thanks this.
