I just got a 2005 volvo with d12d 465hp engine and it has mid128pid94fmi7 faut for fuel pressure too low, truck has 960,000 miles and i have no history what was done to it. I replaced fuel filter and water seperator filter, new fuel presure sensor and primed system, truck runs nice but the fault is active, the fuel pump seems that was replaced not too long ago but i can't tell if month or year ago. I read forums and i see that belt driving device has to be in good condition when checking a fuel pump, mine problem is that mine driving device was worn out it had about 1/4 inch play( not back lash) , so i replaced it during replacement i checked the fuel pump shaft and it had no play or was damaged. I need some inputs, im suspecting a fuel pump being defective but i have to find tools to check fuel pressure with banjo bolt type fitings as per volvo manual but its not easy. I think i can find gauge that i can fit in drain valave location on fuel filter housing, is that a correct place to check fuel presure or i should remove fuel pressure sensor and try to check it there. What mine pressure should be at ide at those loactions, or ishould just replace fule pump, i know there are some valve repair kits for fuel pump when they go bad do they cause this fault.
    Sugestions welcome.
    Thank you

The best way to check it is with the volvo software but at the fuel pressure senator should work to you're looking for idle 40psi about and high idle can go up to 60psi I've seen the fuel pumps go bad before even when they are relatively new if the driving device goes bad they usually go bad

If the shaft being driven by The driving device is not 100 % rectangular and not worn out then the pump is Gettin stick I would say 80 % sure it's the pump if u show me a picture of the shaft where it's getting driven by the accessory drive then ill tell u for sure first thing I would do on d12 is replace the pump in that case

I already instaled driving device, i might take the fuel pump out on weekend and take couple pictures, don's seem that is too hard to take the pump out. The drining device was really bad if the truck was running it will drip oil on the ground. It took couple cans of brake clean to just around the device, it was like under coating.

To do the job properly they always should be replaced together because if one goes bad it always messes up the other the problem is that a lot of people do not know this and the ones who do go the cheap way and only replace or but if u don't want any issues u have to replace both then ure set for another 500 k easy

The fuel pump is simple to take out remove the alternator and u have 3 14 millimeter and one 12 mil behind the fuel line that's 90 degrees that's it

If u take care of a truck I have only seen one that needed it before 800 k I work on these things on a daily bases about 3 to 4 a day and they have no issues we still have them running with 1.7 million with no problems but we take care of them religiously
