I recently picked up a 2005 379 and have been doing a lot of after sunset driving in the winter and the headlights sucks. I am used to non sealed beam headlights and would really enjoy HID projectors in this truck. So my upgrades would be as follows in which I would prefer first.
2009+ 379 headlights like in the photo:

JW Speaker 8800 Low beam and High beam replacement headlights:

or these:

My questions are:
Will the bottom replacement housings fit in the factory headlight shroud? I am talking depth (as these are aprox 4" deep) not face dimensions.
Will the headlights from a 2009 bolt to the hood like my 2005 housings?
Are there any other substitutes to the JW Speaker or the eBay version?

I'm completely screwing up watching UL beat down UM..... I'll continue in a new post.

I don't have my truck at home to measure how deep the housings are, will the Pete housings accommodate a 4" deep headlight assembly?

If your 05 Pete has quad rectangular headlamps then yes, the rectangular composites will fit. There are a lot of options out there but sometimes its hard to find them. Give me a bit and I'll post up some links in this post to others.
http://www.ebay.com/itm/165mm-H4651-H4656-H1-H4-EURO-CONVERSION-HEADLIGHTS-SET-/330730820313 These have a Euro beam pattern. In low they have a very sharp vertical cutoff that rises to the right. They give great vision of the right side of the road for spotting pedestrians, deer, cars on the shoulder, without blinding oncoming traffic. Also they take standard H1 and H4 bulbs. Get the city light option and you can mod your daytime running light function to operate the city lights (built into the low beam housing) Euro pattern would be my hands down choice for an upgrade. -
Thanks!
What about 2009 headlights? Will they bolt to the hood? -
No idea I've never compared them side by side. Personally I like the quads much better than the newer ones. I think they match the styling of the truck better.

I put these in my 379 http://www.bigrigchromeshop.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?page=BRCS/PROD/HDLITB/UPCRYSTPKG But I had to use a small grinder to open up the hole in the back of the adjustment bucket just a little, but excellent lights compared to original sealed beams. There are several different options, you can get them with built in LED turn signals http://www.bigrigchromeshop.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?page=BRCS/PROD/HDLITB/UP31373 or projection bulbs like you mentioned earlier http://www.bigrigchromeshop.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?page=BRCS/PROD/HDLITB/UP31375 even full on LED headlights http://www.bigrigchromeshop.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?page=BRCS/PROD/HDLITB/UP31358 the sky er...ah... the checkbook is the limit. That's my go to accessory shop, you can shop around and probably find stuff a little cheaper, but I'm willing to pay a little extra for better service after the sale.

I found the STARR high beam and low beam in Canada for around $69 each. Not bad. DOT approved too. I will go with this upgrade for now and then get an HID ballast and bulb in the near future.
Thanks for all your help!

I would do what KeithT1967 said in his post #4. I installed Bosh headlights on my 98' 379 and love them.
