    Hello,

I have 2004 Freightliner Columbia with detroit engine in it, recently it was missing on hills so i called specialist mechanic of engines, he said we need to break the trucks computer password, i called dealer and he said it would cost me around $100, is there any way of finding out that password, or should i retrive it from dealer.

    Thank you for looking.
    Appreciate your time.

Default password use to be 0000. Could be anything now. Anyway you can get a hold of the original owner or whoever you bought it from? If you bought it used, they really should have unlocked or at least provided you with the password.

i have an w900 isx450 that used to be a swift truck and has a swift password. i was quoted $125 for cummins to use a program called zapit.

as for your missing problem. it's been snowing a lot. i've had 1 out of the last 6 tankis that ran good. it didn't snow where i fueld up. the other 5 tanks have snowed. and engine has ran like crap. coasting runs ok. but climbing hills. it vibrates like it has a dead cylinder. and makes a little more noise through the frame.

i've got a bottle of that howles in the tanks now. seems to be helping out.
i ran it back in october, when the snow first started. it helped on the mpg. but not enough to justify the extrra cost for every tank.

can't wait for the snow to stop and fresh fuel again. bad enough ddropping 1mpg for the winter blend. but these recent storms dropped me another 1/2 mpg as an added bonus to running like crap.
