I paid $17000 for the truck today. So what you guys think it's good truck and good deal I got and it's my first time buying Truck . Btw it has 650k miles on it . I drove it it really drives nice . Any advice what to get done before I put this Truck on road . Thanks in advance .

What impressed YOU to buy this unit?
Did your run a carfax history report?
We bought a 2002 Century in 2008 that has been good for us. -
Yes I did run carfax everything looks good . I been told by lots of people that buy pre egr engine Detroit series 60 . And stay away from egr engine. So I guess I made a right choice .

The Det 60 is a good piece.

depends if the truck is an EX owner operator specd truck or just another fleet RIG.. ive seen them plastic bodied shakeaparts go for as low as $7k running the other day.

What Gizmo said, but I'd follow that up with a "trusted" mechanic, and pay him what he asks, to do a thorough complete inspection (hope you have money left) to make sure everything is as good as it can be.
What you spend now asking him to go over and fault everything is one less thing that DOT can fault you for (pay now or pay later)....leaking oil, air leaks, exhaust leaks, spacers between brake air lines, proper hanging of air lines at back of truck, retro reflective markings (tape and reflectors), headlights, running lights, turn/hazard signals, ABS light system and parts, leveling valve, brake linings, canisters, drums, seals, everything and anything. Believe it or not, I saw a DOT on a company I was looking at that got them for elongated wheel bolt holes.
In other words, ask him to cost you money now...ahead of time so you're paying for the repairs instead of the repairs and the fines....and the points.
It's best to know you're in as good a shape as you can be now. Reduced breakdowns as you're trying to make money, and a better sense of confidence in your ride to perform as you need and want it to.
Good Luck.RamboJatt Thanks this. -
but i dont want to sound to harsh on your purchase either, if its well maintained, good to new tires, fresh engine with somesort of paperwork of repairs, good clutch and has to be complete with all plastics and fairings interior and exterior wise then you got a good truck to wokrk for a while. What Trans and Rear ends gears on it?ALL aluminum rims?doors or windows on the sleeper?
