ok O/O I value your guys opinions a lot! I talk to my mechanic and you guys before I think about making a purchase! So here is the ? I'm looking at a 2001 International series 60 Detroit with 554,000 original miles on it. This owner and the last owners were farmers so not much mileage. 250 inch wheel base. No info on trans other than it's a 10 speed. I think everything is original rear ends, etc... my mechanic told me Detroits and International doesn't go well together. Something about u have to specially order hoses, or something like that. What's your guys thoughts on this? I really like the truck. The sleeper still has the plastic on the mattress. Looks very clean and it's only 80 miles from my house! Thank you all n I hope you all had a Merry Christmas!!!

It's like a red headed stepchild. Some things you can get through International, some will have to come from Detroit. If the truck suits you & the money is right I wouldn't let that scare me off. I have a 9900 & a 9400,both with Detroit's.

That looks like a 9900ix the extended hood version.

Nothing at all wrong with a Detroit in a International. If that is the original miles and everything checks out including the price I would lots rather have it than any of the new emissions junk.
And a Merry Christmas to you too.Justrucking2 and Bfr38 Thank this. -

If it's cheap enough I would buy it. Anyone will be able to work on it.
