Hey guys as the title states. I have a 2001 freightliner classic xl, with an N14. The air buzzer won't ever turn off. I replaced the primary and secondary air switches behind the steering column. I have tried a different Bendix "vigil" light bar and a different buzzer itself. With the new light bar the low air light and buzzer stay on. So I know it thinks the air is low. Air pressure is fine. I thought those two switches behind the steering column where the only switches? Am I wrong? Where do those go to in the wiring panel in the bottom center of the dash? Maybe it is a bad connection there? All the labels are worn off on my wiring panel so I have no clue what's what in there. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Yeah I have read that thread as well. Unfortunately I already replaced the air switches. I have been running with the buzzer just taken out of the "vigil" light bar, but it is just a matter of time before I get inspected at a weigh station and they complain about the buzzer not working properly. Plus I like when my stuff functions the correct way.

I’m not sure on a Freightliner, but would guess the switches apply ground. If so I would look for a rubbed wire from the output of the switch.

I will pull the kick panels off and check all the wiring again. I didn't check the wires that close for damage to be honest. They could also be switched around. Not sure if that would matter I will check that too.

If I recall it port 10, port 13 low air switch for primary and secondary. 2 switches. Use jumper wire to see if it stops.

Yep those are the switches I changed. I pulled the kick panels back off. Everything seems fine? What exactly do I jumper and what does it prove if it turns it off? The switches send 12v to the light panel for it to turn off the buzzer right? Maybe one of the new switches is bad? When I unhooked everything and switched it around it didn't change anything. I see one wire goes direct to ground. Maybe the ground needs cleaned up? It has that rubber coating sprayed all over it. All the wires seem undamaged and fine. I'm kind of at a loss. It also seems the wires from the switch run directly to the light bar? Seems they don't go to the main wiring panel. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. I assume the switches are the only thing that controls that low air light and buzzer?

Only update I have is that the very top line in the switches has 5.5 volts. All others have nothing. Switches also seem to not be letting that power through to the other side of them either. If that is how they are supposed to work.

Are you sure you replaced the right switch? You mentioned being behind the steering column. I have a 2001 Classic. The switch is located behind the center panel, top left corner. Switch reads NC 65. Normally closed, opens at 65psi. Other switch next to it is the brake light switch. It reads NO 5. Normally open, closes at 5 lbs. applied pressure, turns brake lights on. I can’t find the part #’s.

I can check there as well. I wonder if my classic is built different for some reason? My two low air pressure switches are behind the steering column. I changed both with the correct parts. The brake light switch is located there as well, it seems to work fine. I have read of other people with classics that the switches are in the center console area and some are located where mine are behind the steering column. No clue when they changes were made to the design. Regardless I will take the center panel off tomorrow and take a look. I think I have a wire rubbed and going to ground somewhere. The feed line from the light bar is only putting out 5.5 volts. From my understanding it should be 12v. Going to do more digging behind the dash tomorrow.
