I need help??
I have a 2000 international 4700 Dt466 with auto Allison rollback. I towed a jeep about 32 miles today.. After I was unloading the truck I noticed a stutter like the truck wanted to cut off. I got back in it and gave it some gas and idle it up. It didn't act like it was going to cut off.. So I started driving and got about 3 miles down the road and set at a light it did it again. I thought I was low on fuel but I had between a half and quarter. I drove back the 32 miles and had no issues. I pulled back to the yard and let it idle and it never stuttered. Just as I was go on another tow it did it again.. I went did another tow about 9 miles away and when I got there I was on a little incline and back up it did it again but this time it cut off. It started back up. I had to keep foot on accelerator and brake while back up little driveway hill to turn around. As I parked to hook to truck it was a little decline and as I'm hooking to truck, my truck just kept idli g low like it was going to cut off. It never did. It only cutoff as I was trying to accelerate with out giving it a lot of gas in neutral than switching to drive. A orange light on gear shifter cam on that said something was to high before it cutoff.. I drove it and got to destination and the truck was fine until about 5 mins of idling while unloading. Can someone please help me and tell me what could be causing this. I have no check engine lights or anything besides what came on 1x by gear shift. I made it back to yard and parked it. PLEASE HELP!!!

How long has it been untill fuel filter been changed, may need new filter or drain water out of bottom of filter into clear jar before leaving for next PU.
TopNotchTnT Thanks this. -

Change the fuel filter even if the mi. are not that many,

Baha is right, it sounds like a fuel filter.

As long a no engine warning lights are coming on the high pressure oil and injection system should be ok, so I also agree on a fuel issue. Filters always first as the others said and always double check for those hidden primary water separator filters usually mounted in tough spots along the frame that can be missed and totally forgotten about. Follow the fuel lines from the tank to make sure. Some times they are mounted on the passenger side too.

Hello guys I changed the fuel filter that's under the hood on drivers side. I'm still having the same issue.
Do you'll think the fuel lift pump that's on the high pressure pump would make it run like this? Should I change that? It's a pricey little part and didn't want to change it if that isn't it. -
There is a fuel pressure test plug on the filter housing. You can remove it and install a mechanical pressure gauge to make sure. You should have about 45-60 psi of pressure. The engine will run poorly with less than about 20 psi.

I did that.. Pressure was about 55-60.. I changed the crank cam sensor.. So far the truck hasn't cutoff after idling.. Hopefully this will do.. I only drove about a mile.. I let it run for about 20 minutes with no problems..

Usually the cam sensor sets a code, but it could also be poor connection anywhere too. Good luck, I hope you got it!
