I started this thread in the International truck forum. Any thoughts here? Thanks, Gradyy

The best way we ever found to check the up pipes was to put our hands around them with the motor stone cold and feel for leaks. If the firewall is covered with soot it's probably a problem. To check the charge air cooler itself I had to make two plugs that fit the boots. I found a big piece of schedule 40 pipe that fit inside the boots glued a pair of caps on and drilled a hole in one. I screwed a air fitting in the hole and pressurized it to about 3psi. I used soapy water in a spray bottle to look for leaks. I hope you figure it out. I did replace my trans once.

I'm pretty sure it's starting in 1st but I was thinking it might be shifting too soon or just doesn't have enough power to keep the rpms up after it does shift. I was thinking it might be a lack of fuel but it will turn 2500 rpms once it gets going. The guys who had it before said it always ran fine and they only stopped driving it when they got the new one. No soot on the firewall but I'll check those pipes anyway. The whole thing is super clean - like a fire truck. I don't think it ever lacked maintenance - that makes it even more frustrating. I had to put new batteries in it because it sat for so long. Could there be something electronic that needs to be reset or recalibrated? What about the accelerator pedal? It seems like it doesn't have the same throttle response as my other t444e - even just sitting still in neutral.
