Truck is an '83 Pete 359, Cat 3406B that got new rod and main bearings last winter at Stills and Sons in Sutter, CA, 13spd transmission rebuilt about 50k miles ago at BJ Gears in Sacramento, DS404 rear ends on Air Leaf suspension. These are two speed rear ends with a 4.11 gear ratio. Front differential was rebuilt at BJ Gears in Sacramento about 6k miles ago. The truck has a Cozad ramp for getting under a lowbed trailer. It was my end dump truck and it was layed over on the passenger side while dumping just under a month ago. I've since pulled the wet kit and put it onto another truck. Truck is still currently registered and runs and drives. Truck is repairable or use the parts for your project.

    3406B - $3000
    13spd transmission - $2000
    Rear ends - $2000
    Cozad ramp - $500

Whole truck will go as a unit for $6000. I know what these items go for as parts and I know what I am asking for them is CHEAP!

If you're interested in any other miscellaneous parts feel free to inquire.

My brother also has a 1989 Pete 379 daycab with a bad 3406B motor on the Yuba-Sutter CA craigslist that he wants to get $4k out of. Buy both trucks for $10k and have yourself a great setup with lots of spares.

I would buy the motor and trans if you were closer. Being a fan of.359s i hope someone gets it and repairs.it. Thats not bad damage at all. Even the short hoods are bringing good money

I can get the truck down to under 10' tall if I needed to for shipping by removing the top of the stacks and the steers, might be able to LTL this thing on a stepdeck to some parts of the country and still come out ahead pricewise. Weight of the truck is roughly around 17k lbs.

This is going to sound dumb but I have to ask. How much for those CAT emblems on the hood?
