Georgia is notorious for scamming trucking companies on tow bills and booting trucks.

The TRIP tow companies must respond with two heavy duty recovery trucks and a support truck as part of the program.

According to 11Alive, Georgia officials say that there is no set rate that tow companies must adhere to if the tow was initiated by law enforcement.

 

Good point. Tow companies are very micromanaged by the governments where they operate. Many even dictate the rates tow companies can charge as well.

 

So I guess the key is to call for a tow yourself before the cops do?

 

Wonder how much kickback money that cop got for the $14K tow. He has to know what's going on.

 

I wonder if that’s even an option when you’re blocking a travel lane.

 

There needs to be a law that prevents towing companies from charging ridiculous fees that could bankrupt companies.
