Well, theres the 15 speed, which seems to be a 13 where you split the low gears instead of the high and count low as 1 (and split it too) but no i dont think theres any different shift pattern for 15/13/18

    I was wrong apparently

The old up against the dash 9/13 was for overdrive models. The direct drive being the normal pattern. The old RTO series were the funky shift pattern with the big hole being up against the dash. The RTX series was the regular shift pattern along with RTLO of course

The 93 came with a Rockwell 9OD against the dash before we put the RTX 14609B with the aux off of a RTO14613 to give us the old school .62 in the big hole. It's actually a triple OD .87 .73 .62 and with the regular shift pattern

Edit RTOO like wore said not RTO has the U pattern

A 15 speed is just a 10 speed with 5 low creeper gears similar to the 8LL. You technically don't "split" them in the normal sense

The 15 uses a 10 speed pattern, it can be a standard H pattern or a horse shoe pattern with the last 2 gears turned around. It always splits on the bottom only.

The 13 and 18 share a 9 speed pattern that doesn’t use low in the high side. Reason being the ratios between high gear on the low side and the cheater gear as some call it are too close. That’s why it works so well to use when you should go to the low side but don’t want to. Most 13 and 18 come in the standard H pattern except for the RTOO series. I run a old style top plate on mine to turn it around to the horseshoe pattern. It’s all I have ever driven, high gear belongs against the dash in my opinion.

The first 13’s series that came out before the rt and rto9513. Was behind a lot of gas burners.

I have an RTO 6613 in my mechanics truck, run your first 3 on bottom all 5 in the middle and your last 3 on the high side. High gear against the dash as usual

    Tug Toy Thanks this.
