That's a great kit, but will not fit on a 99 water pump, the 99's have a smaller cover. Detroit uses to sell a replacement metal cover to replace the plastic one, not sure if they are still available. Back then, you had to buy the cover, seal and snap ring separate.

Look at the pump though, I think I'd bite the bullet and replace it.

3 bolts. 2 front, 1 back. It pulls right out. When installing oil the o ring with engine oil and the water pump gears. Re install, everything buttons up nice, no Shimming or anything like that to worry about.

Changed mine out a couple years ago. It was pretty easy, didn't even need power tools. the worst part was I changed it in my driveway, and the wind blew antifreeze everywhere but in the
bucket! Good thing I was going to replace the antifreeze anyway, and planned for it.

A Detroit water pump is gravy!!! Go ahead and replace the 2 silicone hoses between the pump and oil cooler too while you're there. 2 hour job max.

Yup, pretty easy. The only not mentioned so far and isn't really necessary, is to remove the dipstick tube before you start. It makes it easier to get out and easier to line up going in.
