When someone "converts" a 10 meter radio for use in the 11 meter band do they lose access to the 10 meter band, or does the "conversion" ADD the CB channels to what is already there?

The ones I've had on my bench both add 11 Meters *and* change the 10 Meter band segments the radio covers. My own rig is an Emperor, and once enabled the band switch toggles through 4 or 5 channel banks. I can't speak to the other more commonly seen import rigs.
Several of the import rigs, right out of the box, only cover 28.000 to 28.295, but those freqs are all within the non-voice (Morse, digital modes). Which is kinda pointless for a radio that can't do anything other than AM voice.

The CB Tricks site can probably give you more specifics based upon the actual make & model you're thinking of getting.

    Hope that helps some.

I'm not sure what your are saying in relation to the question? Did you lose any frequencies or bands after conversion?

Well I guess 10 meter is 27000 to 29700 so I guess they are all not there, dont know if they were all there before conversion to 11 meter.
