I'm sure this is something I should know already, but this hasn't come up for me yet. I arrived at my delivery at 0200 this morning (I went off duty), but they weren't ready for me to swap out the trailers until 0700. At which time I went "on duty - yard moves" and swapped trailers, then went back off duty (at 0730). In this case will my 11/14 reset at 1200 (10hrs from when I last was in Drive)? or at 1730 (10hrs from going back to off duty from using yard moves)?

From the yard move, not the drive. You had 5 hours in too. That really sux. If it were all possible, I would have PC’ed that one.

Crap, that's what I was afraid of. I thought about just keeping it below 5mph while swapping trailers (therfore not triggering the automatic switch to drive), but was worried that I might go just a little too fast. Well, now I know. Lesson learned. Thanks for the reply. Looks like I gotta try to sleep during the day. I hate that.

Take a 7in the sleeper. Can leave at 1530 with 11 d and 1330 left in your 14. If you went off duty instead of sleeper then you will need a full 10. This is why you always put it in sleeper not off duty

Yeah, you should set the SB Spilt on your ELD. It will give you back that 5 hours on your 14 and then when you do finish and get stopped, don't forget to take the 7 hr in SB part of the split. Even if you take a full 10 after this, still need to show the 7 hours, continuous, in SB. Good news is you can take the 10 hour and 7 hr sleeper berth concurrently. Don't need to take 9ne and then the other. But, you gotta show 7 continuous hours in SB or it's as HOS violation.

Yeah, the split sleeper option is something that I can't seem to wrap my head around, and I'm afraid to hit that button. Would it help me in this situation? IMG_20220318_130245__02.jpg

I need to drop this trailer about 7hrs away
