I could live with that ( fueling at their terminals ), I have noticed their trucks look clean and well maintained . How were they at getting you home when you wanted ?

That would be best answered by someone who works for them. I just run temp stuff for them. Birmingham AL to Howell MI on occassions. They pay me quite well to do that for them. I would definitly look into them if i was going to go back over the road on a permanent basis.

Soooo, how did you get into running part time for them, that sounds like a pretty good gig !:smt023 Now, if I could get into something like that here in Florida, that would be perfect .:colors: :colors:

Yeah, you're right about it being a crap shoot . I spent 29 years driving truck, as a company driver and an O/O. I kinda retired early in 2002, sold the truck and moved to Fl. from MI. and now would like to get back into it . The part time ( such as you are doing would be great .

I gotta call yesterday from Averrit and they want me to do some local work for them for awhile maybe turning to permanent later. But i want to wait and see how they are before i commit to them. They are gonna give me hourly pay for a pretty sweet gig. I guess i just lucked into it. I'll let you know how they are. Hey try some of those truck staffing agencies to start out with. It's a good way to get a feel for these companies without committing to them. The pay usually starts out low but builds up fast. It's kinda based on exp. and endorsements. I use truckers plus here in Atlanta. There is one in jacksonville also. But i know there are several more out there. Good luck.

I don't think luck has much to do with it, they obviously see something in you they like ! A lot of drivers hire in as OTR or regional in hopes of getting a local position . I'd apprciate any updates .

Yeah i'll definitly keep you updated. I'm curious myself. I'm just all about the local driving. Just wish i could do it some where else other than Atlanta.
