Yes they do. 500. Pay 50 a week till paid. If no damage to truck when done, it is returned.
    Can bring them to oran.
I take video of when I get truck. I also include a by party witness in video. When leave I do the same, I also keep a deep clean repcite dated and done few days before truck turn in. If you need to go to small court, there be no questions.
Cover your butt like they cover their own.

For the flatbed side, is everything tarped or just some stuff?? I'm looking to apply but a little overwhelmed at the thought of tarping at the beginning of winter.

In the past 6 months I have tarped 8 loads. 3 in a row though. Comes in spurts. A company driver generally doesn't have a choice (I occasionally got load choices when I was company, but not often), but a lease or owner op can choose nothing but no tarp. May have to run cheap doing that. I try not to tarp, but sometimes it's the only way to be profitable.

...if you don't feel comfortable with tarping, then don't do flatbed work. simple.

It's simply because I'm really short and would rather not hurt myself trying to tarp in bad weather before I get the hang of it.

What's so bad about tarping? I've been accepted by ATS and considering after the first of the year. I've hauled heavy equipment, and tanker but not really done any true flatbed. What's so bad about tarping though? Is it having to work physically in bad weather? Is it just having to do physical work period? I'm not trying to put it down by any means cause I'm sure there's an art to it. I mean I hear n see everyone #####in about what specifically makes it suck. Thanks

It's just because I'm short, not that strong, and a little clumsy. I can see myself falling off the deck before I get the hang of it. I'm sure once I have a system I'll be fine. I've been working with a conestoga a little over a year now so strapping and securing the load I've got a handle on that part, just not tarping.

But I suppose if I'm getting criticized for having any slight concern about doing something, I should give up now on hopes of getting paid more than $800 a week. Sorry for asking a question.

    I completely agree with you.
Well done, and it is necessary in life.
Otherwise, you can not take your money. The first thought is always true.

Well shorty I'm not sure how I criticized you or you took that as an insult but I was seriously just wondering what makes it suck so bad. I've ran lowboys off n on locally for 17 years so I know securing equipment/freight can be work n sometimes a pain. I figure tarping isn't much different, once you've done it awhile you get a system. Guess if you're gonna run flatbed ya don't have any choice but to deal with it.

I’m 5’8” tall. When I first got into flatbedding, I didn’t have ANY upper body strength. After a few tarp loads at my old company, carrying tarps, winding straps etc..., I developed arms like Popeye’s. You also learn that you can anchor a strap on one side of the trailer and rappel down the other side. Nothing like fear to motivate you. I’ve tarped in high wind, cold, rain, sleet, snow.

Something else you can try is ask the loader to place your tarps on top of the load for you. Some places will actually open them up and drape them over for you. ATS has a 3 tarp system with only 6’ drops. One on front center and back will give you all the coverage you need. PM me if you have any other questions.

We don't do many tarped loads here. On average , for me, maybe 4 out of 10 loads are tarped. I'll go months without doing one, then have 3 or 4 in a row. They pay us (I'm a company driver ) $50 for legal and $60 for O/D which is better than most other companies. I will say that I may not tarp a lot , bit when I do I almost always have to use multiple tarps. So yea it's a fkn pain that probably every one of us flatbedders hates and just puts up with lol the other annoying thing to me is that they don't supply is with anything to protect them with eith3r so they get torn a lot
