This video helped me. My bunk Heater did not come with manual. I kept getting a maintenance required error. My bunk heater was set at 1000 service hrs. I moved it to 2000 hrs.

If you have an APU I would leave the low voltage set at 12.2 otherwise the trucks LVP will start beeping at you. The APU should kick on before 12.2 do you don't have to worry about the heater kicking off.

This will be very helpful to some I'm sure. The 10 hour timer annoyed the hell out of me, not every day you're going to be getting up at the 10th hour on the dot.

Recent quirks with my Espar would lead me to advise that you maintain them every 500 hours.

A fuel pump installed level didn't help.
Learning they had a fuel filter did help.
Learned they don't like high altitude too.
Very good You Tube video for basic maintenance is on there.

Hmm I didn't know they had a fuel filter either. Time to do some checking.

Little bitty one on the intake side of the fuel pump. Check out the You Tube video.

I got an Espar high altitude pump with my A2 unit.Works fine, camped at 11000'+ with no problem. It does cut down heat output by maybe 10%, not a problem for me. I did not get the high altitude controller. The high altitude pump makes the heater run leaner so hopefully less carbon buildup.

    blairandgretchen Thanks this.

They’re nothing but junk..... in fact the TK apu’s with that ##### heater is so dysfunctional I’ve had to idle the past three nights. Every time I’m above 3000 feet it tries to run but shuts off. I’ve already been on the phone with my company’s shop multiple but Dispatch ignores them when it comes to bringing the truck in for repairs. They actually sent the latest shipment of TK APU units back to the mfr and went back to the carrier’s on the new trucks.
