I worked for cr england for a year. You have to get 2 years exp. somewhere, don't plan on making much money and what ever you do dont lease but as far as companys go they are good as any to put your time in until you have the exp. to find better at least cr england has nice trucks.

CR England has a driver school, down in the Cedar Hill, Midlothian area here in Texas. I see them every day driving up and down US 67 because their school is located off of the highway.. They are slow as hell, understandably because their training. But don't stop in back of any of them, because it takes them (no kidding) at least ten minutes to make a turn..

Actually you do not need experience to work for CR England That was the first company I worked for after school. My husband currently works for them, it also his first driving exp. out of school. Last year just short of my husbands first year with them he won a 2008 F 150 4x4 tagged at 32,000 dollars. I myself will probably never exp. that type of enjoyment out of any co. He runs solo and travels all 48. He never runs short of miles

I have driven for CR England for going on 3 years now. My experience with them has been generally good.

The recruiter that contacted me was totally honest about everything. I trained at the Mira Loma, CA facilities. CRE paid for the motel room.....just 2 guys to a room. They provided a van to get us back and forth to the school. They don't pay for meals....so you need money for that.

I believe that I must have come in right after CA reinstated CRE's 3rd Party DMV testers. My class had 40 hours of classroom training the first week then took the written tests at the DMV the following Monday to get our permits. The next 2 days were company orientation (and of course, listening to sales pitches about the Lease Program). We then spent the next 7 days practicing pretrip inspections, backing, parallel parking, driving on streets, turns, etc. We took our driving tests the following Thursday.

Waited 2 days for an over the road trainer to come pick me up (all paid days). Spent 3 weeks with that trainer. He had a dedicated run from Mira Loma, CA to Indianapolis, IN then to Mount Sterling, KY and back to Mira Loma, CA (sweet run!) Then completed the Solo Operator upgrade testing at Mira Loma, CA and waited 3 days for a CAT trainer (again, all paid days).

Spent 3 weeks with the CAT (Lease) trainer. I stayed an extra week with him because we were getting great miles! Then went to the West Valley City, UT Terminal to complete paperwork and get assigned a truck. Yep.....had to share a room with 7 other guys in bunk beds! Thank God my roomies were clean guys!

Sat through more sales pitches for the Lease Program. If you read nothing else in my post.....READ THIS!!! DO NOT LEASE unless you already have a teammate!! I did the math and since it did not jive with the figures they were telling us, I refused to lease and was assigned a company truck (my good ol' girl!).

Spent 12 months doing national and western regional loads (at that time western region consisted of 11 states. It now consists of mainly 3). Then got a cream run.....dedicated customer container fleet! Averaged 2800 miles a week, best paying fleet CRE had. However, after 13 months, the customer was underbid by a competitor and no longer needed our fleet.

CRE placed us in another dedicated fleet.....6 cents a mile decrease in pay and about 2000 miles a week. So I have watched my income reduce to almost half what it was. CRE says that's the best they can do....not sure that I believe that but they haven't lied to me yet (to my knowledge) so I will give them the benefit of the doubt. In December, I'll have my 3 years in, so I'll be shopping around.

By the way, I shopped around about a year ago and got 72 job offers from trucking companies of all sizes. I turned them all down because, at that time, none of them could give me the miles and pay rate that I was getting with CRE.

From reading the posts on this site, I am guessing I must be an exception with CRE. I have never had a pay problem, a reimbursement problem, layover problem. While it is true that my current DMs (this fleet has 3) seem to be rather self-serving at times, I still get load after load after load.

Best of wishes all of you!

Banana, you really do seem to be a rare specimen. A driver with more than a year in at England that is actually not having the troubles we read about here regularly. To me, the pay and mileage cut would be unacceptable, but that is just my opinion. If you have no problem with that, my hat is off to you.

    MACK E-6 Thanks this.
