Possibly bad A/C hi pressure fan switch(sensor) on condenser

Possible fan clutch as well, unplug ac high pressure switch if it shuts off then theirs your problem. If not I bet the clutch is bad.

I just saw your question. I see that it's been here quite some time. I have a 96 pete with an e model cat. I had the same problem with the fan staying on. I replaced the fan sensor and it fixed the problem. It is located on the front right of the engine under the a/c and next to the alternator. I had to have a 1-1/16th inch deep socket and I had to grind a slot up one side of it so the wire loom had room. Hope this helps.
baha Thanks this. -
Thanks, i will give that a try
