Aww that is cool as I am sure we have some that don't show up the company like they should but glad to hear that the bad hasn't over looked the good. We try hard to hire good drivers although I must say logs is always an issue anywhere you work due to all companies being different on logs when we should all be the same

imtelling you mandontcome here right now find some place better you will be much happier in the long run
p.sthe person above works at logs in the company so they get to see whats doing on inside but i get first hand experience how
they treat the drivers and we keep losing miles i wasmaking2200 3000 nowimlucky if i hit 2000imnot the only driver i have talk to a lot
of others with the same story. and i know i a bunch that have quit or are quiting. so please do theresearchand choose what best for you -
The one's that are happy are one's that are taking the freight they get. I guess it's like construction on a house. Do you refuse a bad house or take it to keep working. I mean my hubby did construction and I see so much how it's related (somewhat) to trucking.
I also see the drivers side, freight has been rocky, but I see it picking up.
I also see those guys quitting and coming right back to find the grass is NO greener on the other side and that's for real. The bad part about that is the driver lost time at the other companies orientation, our orientation and the first week starting over is always short, so sounds to me like regardless they was going to lose so why lose the senority.
I don't believe it's "Celadon" I believe honestly its the economy getting very low at this point. I want to use the word "recession" . Why do you think everyone is bringing it up? I see it every where, not just in trucking.
Hey me working on the inside I hear it all, the drivers seem to think I am their vent person and that's fine lets me know what's going on. However I do sometimes get the "other" side to the story. If I investigated everyone one of them I just wonder how much time they sat because they wasn't feeling good, or spent to much time # their girlfriends (not wife) etc. I mean these are facts that I know that causes low miles of some of these guys.
Please don't hold back because I work there, I would never mislead anyone if I could at all tell the truth I will. There will be times I can't tell the truth and that's just because of legal reasons -
My husband has put in an app for Celadon. He's talked with Becky in recruiting. We live about an hour away from Indy. Is that where you're from? Hubby is trying to find a job that will actually pay. Right now he's running actual about 430 miles a day but only getting paid for about 200 of them. He drives local, by that I mean he's home every night, but he runs Indiana and Illinois with sometimes Ohio in there. He's only bringing home average $250 to $350 a week. Sometimes even less, like around $100. We are so broke our bank account is overdrawn by a large amount, our bills are overdue, and we can barely support ourselves or take care of our baby. I don't even have enough money for gas or a babysitter to go look for a job myself. So he's looking for something that will pay. He worked for almost nine years with a company driving local, bringing home about $650 a week, but they decided to close the terminal where he worked, so he moved to this new company and boy was that a mistake. Neither one of us wants him to go OTR and be away from home for two weeks at a time, but we've decided the sacrifice is worth it if the money is there. Problem is, most don't want to hire him because he doesn't have "over the road" experience and he has a felony from sixteen years ago for burglery. He took the rap for a couple of juvenilles that actually committed the crimes, his ex-wife's younger brother and one the brother's friends. Now it's really biting him in the butt. We've narrowed down the choices to Celadon, Shaffer, Builders Transport, Arrow, and Priority, and maybe just maybe CRST. So I've been on all these boards looking for the good, the bad, and the ugly about those companies. So far I haven't found anything really bad about Celadon or Shaffer, but I've found bad raps on a couple of the others. Oh the frustrations. And after we get him situated in a new job, then I have to find one for me. I swear I need a reservation in a padded room! -
I was wanting some information about Celedon's braekdown and layover pay. I was told that layover doesn't start until 48 hours and that the breakdown pay is only $40/day split for teams.
-
layover is after 48 hours and i havent been paid breakdown pay yet unless being in the shop at the yard doesnt count

well, i've done all the looking & talking to drivers i think i can about stand and decided this past thurs to schedule orientation. bad part was i wanted to get greyhound conf # fri so i could leave mon morn and get to indy tues morn for wed class, but that didn't work (due to some medical stuff w/ the third party recruiter or processor i was dealing with). now it'll be mon when i get the conf # and can't leave till tues morn, to arrive in indy aroubd 0230 wed morn foe wed orientation.
hopefully things'll get better. so far the first impression ain't looking too good, but i think i'm gonna give 'em a shot to correct this lil setback. -
I dont really see how the 3rd party medical could be there set back. They wont accept a med clearence from your dr. Well if you dont have a CDL or med card already thats understandable I guess. losing a few hours of sleep is something youll have to get used to anyway

I will be preaching what I preach here
