On Saturday my wife and I got our last paychecks from covenant. The bank was closed and the checks were for less than $75 each, so we went to walmart to cash them. Up to this point we had our $$ direct deposit from covenant. Well, walmart would not cash it. On Monday, our bank would not cash them. We had to go to the check cashing liquor store to get them cashed. Weird thing is, walmart cashed our mail in rebate check for $50 and my Schneider paycheck from orientation. The wife deposited her schneider paycheck on monday and the bank cashed a check for her that was from one of her friends that owed her money.
I know nothing about banking or check cashing policies, but I do know what the recording stated when we called the 1-800 number that walmart gives you in the event that they won't cash your check. But, I don't feel comfortable sharing that, just read between the lines.
