Another genius container puller.
-
And a lucky one at that,
no investigation. -
Love the drivers' comment...
But, even IF that were the case, wouldn't it have just locked up the brakes and maybe fishtailed? -
WH, that is what one would think. Those pins are built strong and would not have just broken and let the tandems fall off.
Definitely more to the story, and he got off lucky so far. -
cant believe they just let him go without getting it looked at--ticket or anything
-
Looks like he might have still been in an industrial area and not on 'approved' roads yet. If so he was REALLY lucky.
-
Water in the air lines-- my BSometer is pegged to the red now.

I do not think, just because they let him go, that they can not decide to nail him, and the company, later. I watched a guy trying to reset the sliding axle set on the road instead of putting it in the rack made to do it he managed to rip the bogies out from under the trailer broke the complete back of the trailer out.
-
He probably slid his axles forward, walked back there and popped the pull rod and walked back to the truck. I've seen pins freeze in the open position before. The rail was rusted allowing him to drive until it broke free and WHAM!.
I give him an "A" for thinking up a BS story up in just a few minutes.
Follow him around the next month and you'll see him check the pins 10 times before taking off, lol.
