I got hired at Dayton and it seemed insane to me to go from 40k plus with SNI , final day on a friday and the following monday I jump to the 70's in 2016 and then that we cracked 100k a couple years ago.

The really crazy part is I dropped out of HS( since gotten GED) in my senior year , wasted some 24 yrs drinking and drugging to excess, FINALLY get sober (18yrs now) and enter into a profession at 5 1/2 yrs sober that I have been fascinated about since I'm a little kid AND THEY PAY ME THIS AMOUNT!!!!!

I've heard nothing but great things about Dayton. I've never heard any bad things about them. Any details on them you can share?

Nice job striving to make your life worth living after being in the gutter for so long. Trucking isn't the easiest blue collar profession, but it can yield a better than average income for those who seek it. It typically doesn't require much education just some good old fashioned common sense, which I might add doesn't seem to be so common anymore.

family owned ,solidly run company. 14 state complete coverage in midwest plus the fargo, nd market and bleed over into the adjacent states. well maintained equipment. just clipped 1b in gross revenue for 2022 after like 480m gross revenue in 2016. driver centric company culture.

odfl would have been the dream job at one time. I'm here until they force me to give their keys back.

Well, it’s true. That trucking is not for everyone especially OTR work. I tell people, especially people I think might be able to hack trucking who are down and out that it is the fastest way to get back on your feet or maybe get on your feet for the first time and get ahead in life of any profession I know. You go to school for 12 weeks, get trained for another couple of months, and you get paid while doing the training, and then you’re out there making good money. If you don’t got a place to live? And you go OTR? It don’t matter. You can live on the truck. Stay in a hotel a few days a month eat cheap, get rid of all your bills, and put all your money away. Literally in a year so you can be back on your feet and ahead of the game. What other profession can you do that? Problem is, most folks can’t hack going OTR. If you can? It’s a great way to turn your life around.
