I am just wondering, how to remotely connect to the reefer unit. I downloaded the TK Connect, but the connection there is via Bluetooth, so you have to be at the trailer in order to connect.

    This is from Thermo King:

"...With ConnectedSuite™ telematics, you have the information you need at your fingertips. Every S-700 unit comes equipped to deliver the data you need, and does so for the first 24 months of ownership with no service charge.*...."

This means you can control your unit from West Coast and the Reefer is in Florida, for example..., but how the connection is done? Trough the cellphone network or how?

This from the TK website. Truck Telematics | Thermo King ConnectedSuite | Vehicle Live Tracking | CSTK
Real-time monitoring of temperature, location, and alarm information via mobile apps 24/7.
Easily oversee your fleet on the go using smart phones and other devices. One of the "other devices" is satellite as they mention that.
    CALL FOR SERVICE:
    (888) 566-5743

    HQ
    Phone: 913-233-7220

    Call and ask them.
"This means you can control your unit from West Coast and the Reefer is in Florida" I don't see anything mentioned about controlling a unit remotely. Appears to be for monitoring and tracking.

    Verdel Thanks this.

If this helps, I had to purchase satellite equipment from Orbcomm for my Carrier. And I pay $18/month for complete monitoring and control of the unit/trailer remotely. No doubt the trailer has to have satellite already. Perhaps you have to pay to control and only monitoring is free. For me there is not much use for control, just convenience. For example, sometimes I would wake up in the sleeper and change from continuous to start/stop when the outside temperature would drop closer to the unit temp setting. Or I would pre-cool and pre-trip from my house before hitting the road.

I went today to Thermo King Las Vegas. The most incompetent people I have ever seen... They said : If you purchased the trailer from Salt Lake City, you have to go back there and ask them for help. Well, it has a 5 years warranty from Thermo King? You didn't purchase the trailer from us. We can only tell you if the blue box (adapter that connects to cellular network ) is active or not (for a fee of $280), but we can't give you USER name and PASS.

After this conversation, I am not going to go for a regular warranty service at this location. The useless people may put my equipment in serious danger ....

Anyway , I will call CSTK tomorrow and see what happens. If not I will try ORBCOMM. Thanks to MRMTRANS.

I also found this from the CSTK..... "All Precedent models now TracKing connected, straight from the factory.."

If I understand correctly, this means I only need USER name and PASS, to connect.

After researching some time. Installed WinTrack 6, formated a usb flash drive, now I can download some files trough the usb port. They are showing how the unit was working by date, temp, pretrips and any codes. Nothing to do with remote connection. Today I am going to check the guarded mode. Also, I received email from Thermo King HQ in MN. They are saying that I have to setup a TracKing account with Thermo King dealer with subscription to use the service. The local Thermo King dealer in Las Vegas is no help at all. I am going to try to talk to any other dealer, but if they need the trailer present is going to take some time, but if they need only the serial number of the unit or communication equipment, I can probably get that from the GUARDED mode.

Called Prime Inc today, It turned out that there is not GPS installed, They are using ORBCOM for GPS location.

    ORBCOM is my bet.

Hey MRMTRANS. How much did you pay for installation of the satellite equipment ? $18/month sounds like fair price.
