I've never heard challenges to fight but have heard some abusive language on cb. Mostly over who should or should not be in the passing lane. These governed trucks are a problem in that respect but that's a whole nother problem that we're not going to solve here. I seldom say too much on my radio but keep my attention on the road. I do monitor it though because it can give me another set of eyes and ears on my truck and the road. The most annoying thing on cb is the long winded jeremiads on various topics including drivers reading or reciting religious tracts or people selling things...

When i first started driving trucks in 1995 most truck drivers still had respect and
courtesy for each other. If you where broke down on the side of the road quite a
few would stop to see if you were ok and needed help. They didnt tailgate and cut
each other off and drive along insulting each other on the CB Radio. Its sad to see
a lot of the losers that drive trucks for a living now.The preception a lot of people
have of truck drivers is that they are arrogant, aggressive and uneducated slobs.
This type of incident just reinforces what the media and average person on the
street thinks the average truck driver is like.

Its sad to see what has come of the industry, ive heard lots of stories from my uncle an great uncle about how it used to be and hows much is changed. I was brought up around it so I always would ask on the cb if the driver was ok that was broke down. But from some of the stories of these murders out there I never stopped unless it would've been an obvious emergency. I was shocked one early morning in up state michigan. It was 4am cold an foggy and I just clipped a dear on I78 and was on the shoulder walking back to see if the deer was off the road. Then this daycab comes over the crest and stopped in the road to see if I was alright. Told em yeah I was alright and told him I appreciated him stopping to check. Also another thing my gf told me is her parents perception of truckers, her parents said "truck drivers are just stinky nasty lazy criminals". I just shook my head and said thats horrible but nothing you can do to change the way people feel about us. To many hands out there do one dumb thing in front of a fourwheeler and then they think every trucker is the same way.

The early 90's(90-95) in trucking saw a major flood of School Grads
Its never been the same since.

In what "respect" is a truck to be blamed for anything?
The most annoying thing is an adult that is clueless to "accountability"
