Yep he must have been a "newbie" because I don't even work for the company but I know if the truck is operating correctly it has a 5 min idle limit which is overridden by tapping the accel. His must not have been working right or he did not wait for the idle shutdown warning before overriding it.

If you know how the truck is supposed to operate and it does not operate the way it is supposed to, then you have it fixed
The truck should have a 5min idle time and a idle shutdown override when the outside temp warrants idling. If it does not, then you get it fixed. If they won't fix it then you take a couple extra days off which I hear at knight will guarantee a change of trucks.knighton5 Thanks this. -

They have the trucks set up to idle if it's above a certain temp (I believe 73) or below 35 degrees. They won't change it.
Onto the pay subject. I've been looking over my husband's payroll and I'm totally confused by it. According to Knights pay scale it's a sliding scale of .31 - .40 cents/mile yet on the payroll I'm seeing him being paid .18 - .27 cents/mile. I'm very confused by this. Am I missing something? My husband asked his safety manager who said that they only tax a portion of it....if that's so where's the rest of his pay? Can someone explain this to me? -
YTD InformationGross:$9,096.74Taxes:$1,203.53Net Pay:$9,682.59
He's been working for them since June 1, 2009. Based on this his average monthly net pay is $1613.76 He's almost never home, yet it seems like he's just about working for free. He was out from October 19 to the day before Thanksgiving, day after Tahnksgiving his dispatch called and asked if he was ready to go back out. 5 and a half weeks gone and they were only going to give him 2 days at home! -
