Got an unexpected call from central asking if I wanted to run Saturday night.

I was surprised when central called. Nice 500 mile run for the evening.

Pulled my Silverado into the service department of my Chevy dealer just now for a service appointment. Gotta give my sales guy credit for being a hustler.

    “You still working nights?”
    “Yep”
“Ugh, that sucks man. Tell ya what, instead of sitting here waiting for a few hours, I’ll put you in a new Z71 loaner. Come pick up your truck when it’s convenient sometime this week.”
“Ok, but I’m not buying a new truck until I pay this one off”
    “That’s what they all say.”

    Savages.

Good timing with your extra run last week!

Also good to know we are actually getting paid this week...My check still hasn't posted.

The digital version of the check never did show up for me, not sure what that's about.

Anyways it was a pretty average week as far as pay goes, which is crazy when you compare it to @McUzi having a great week and making twice as much. I screwed myself out of an extra turn one day and on another day they only had enough for the top few drivers, but I mostly made up for the lack of miles with hours on the clock. I got to work the yard on one of those days since a few hostlers had called in sick and I had a blast moving trailers around for 6 hours. The hour of delay was made up of a few minutes of run-time delay due to traffic, my ELD not working correctly, and a piece of the 5th wheel latch on my favorite dolly broke off.

Are you a Silver Eagle dolly kind of guy? I used to be until I snagged a D13000 series Hyundai dolly. That thing is like butter. Hopefully you killed it in the yard to the point where you can start to slide in as a regular jockey.
