For those who traverse this route frequently and perhaps have timed it or at least have an informed opinion.
I’ve always ran straight up 78 (Lamar Ave) between Olive Branch and I-240 but I can recall one time 10+ years ago cutting across some street to I-55 then up and I remember thinking I didn’t feel like I helped myself any because of lights and school zones. But Lamar is getting so bad in many respects I’m wondering if I should reassess the situation.
If cutting over is easier on equipment and faster, which road is ideal and easiest to traverse? My GPS wants to use 302 (Goodman Rd)
Also, anyone know is I-269 someday supposed to be completed from 78 to 55?
Best Route Olive Branch to W Memphis???

I had some fun times at the Mapco there on Lamar many moons ago. Then changed to Pilot and another Pilot across the street was built. haven't been there lately. I did notice a loves on Lamar tho. in '15. Either way, you got traffic !
wore out, Oldironfan, x1Heavy and 1 other person Thank this. -

Navigo always has me turn on Shelby there at the pilots off Lamar then up to 55 north, passing the south end of the airport. Usually catch a few lights but I like it better than Lamar to 240.

Goodman works too but personally I think the traffic is worse, particularly as you approach 55.

I always take Goodman Rd, mainly because the 13 second traffic light with a red light camera at Winchester Rd. pisses me off. Probably not any quicker, I just hate Lamar Ave.

Hopefully I-269 will be completed soon... then no more traffic lights.

I'd look at traffic on Google.
Lamar to 240 to 55 would be my choice unless there's an issue. I don't see 302 being faster with the crap always going on near 55bryan21384 Thanks this. -
