A Walmart Supercenter on the south side of Springfield, IL has been fined over $18,000 for allowing trucks to park in their parking lot.
The city of Springfield issued an $18,065 fine to Walmart after it failed to properly comply with the city’s order to prevent large trucks from parking in their parking lot. According to assistant city attorney Krista Appenzeller, the city is concerned for the safety of others in the parking area.
In April of last year, a zoning violation was lodged against Walmart. According to the State Journal-Register, an inspection was ordered after a safety complaint was filed by a member of the public.
Inspectors ruled that when large trucks park in the lot, they block visibility for other motorists. Because Walmart did not say during their plan review or permitting process that parking spaces would be used by large trucks, they were found to be in violation of zoning laws.
In June, Walmart agreed that it would start to crack down on drivers by hiring additional security, but when inspectors went past again in October and November, they took photographs of the trucks parked in the lot. Finally, after they had a stack of photographs as proof, the city sent Walmart another notice that they were in violation of local ordinances.
From November 8th through December 13th when Walmart turned in a new parking plan, fines of $500 a day piled up. Thirty-five days of fines plus an additional $565 fine brought the total to $18,065.
An acceptable fix to the plan according to the city? Paint larger lines in the parking lot to designate truck parking.

Well when we run out if hours or close to we need a safe place to park. To get off the highway from driving all night. Rather park in the lot then be on the highway falling asleep trying to find a safe place. All rest areas are full and exit ramps. Maybe you should try to figure it out for the drivers. You want less accidents and fatalities then the city needs to quit worrying about trucks parking so they can rest and continue on their trip.
It’s not about safety. It’s about money. Maybe Wal-Mart should pull out of Springfield and take some jobs with it. Guess what happens when you lose an anchor store like that? Everyone suffers.
As for the truck parking. Wal-Mart is the only place for us to shop. I’ve been ticketed just for running in to fill meds. You’ll get your safety concern if drivers can’t stop to sleep.
I can remember driving for over an hour over hours just to find a safe place to shut down . Pulling into rest areas and off ramps just to find there full at 7 pm at night. What’s wrong with people. They’ve lost all respect for the truckers No parade for us.
They’ve lost their mind’s
That’s a bs reply sir I’ve been driving for over 30 yrs. and I’ve not encountered a whole lot of problems finding a safe place to park. And I rarely ever used a Walmart to rest at because trucks and cars in the same lot don’t mix there just accidents and lawsuits waiting to happen. Do you really think Walmart is going to paint truck lines for trucks to park in? It’s not going to happen so do yourself a favor quit blaming everyone for your inability to plan your trip get up early and drive your hours and park earlier or drive at night trucking isn’t a 9 to 5 job it’s a 24 hour job at least it use to be before all cry babies and pansy’s took it over.
With all due respect Whizkid, your reply is BS, and you’ve obviously never spent much time driving in or around Illinois. It is the absolute worst state for finding adequate overnight parking. There are only a handful of decent truck stops or rest stops, and they don’t allow overnight parking on highway ramps.
Instead of criticizing every post on the subject, how about offering some suggestions rather than acting like a complete a**hole? I’ve been driving almost 40 years and you know-it-all road warrior types are a pain in the butt. My guess is that you aren’t even a driver.
I went through Illinois recently, and if I recall correctly, rest areas were often closed for whatever reason. At one point it was over two hours between rest areas that were open, and that was in a car doing well above the speed limit. I feel your pain. Be safe out there.
Chicago parking i mean Gary Indiana parking….
Agree with you Steve! My husband and I drive truck, live in Illinois and deliver all over the country. Lots of places are not truck friendly, no matter how early you get up or plan your day. Some drivers will never understand!
You got that right Steve! I dont know what kind of driving Whizkid has done for 30yrs and never encountered parking problems. But it dang sure wasn’t truck driving!
Had 20 years over the road, and after bad weather, parking is the biggest hassle to deal with, day in, day out. Now you get out west with the huge parking areas it is different. But east of the Mississippi, and you better stop early to get a spot
I’ve been driving 20 years and driving is NOT a 24 hour job, with the addition of ELD’s, driving has become a 14 hour a day swing shift job that is if your clock isn’t clicking away at a shipper/reciever. CompanIes are advertising higher pay but how is it I’m taking home about the same, some times less than I did 20 years ago? I also see more and more the general public and law makers have zero knowledge and take little consideration of what true safety in this job is. There IS a growing lack of truck parking, decent food, entertainment and now we don’t even get to choose when we sleep. I do believe that this industry is being filled all to quickly with improperly trained drivers but not so many pansies.
I don’t know about that Whizkid. Walmart is just that arrogant (this time in a good way) and proud, they just may paint those lines. But that’s not going to satisfy the crybaby who reported it. That person just doesn’t want to see trucks. There are some Walmart stores that have designated truck parking, lines included. Effingham Il., Aurora Co., Manchester Tn. to name a few. And as far as the phrase “plan your trip”, no such thing. More like “hope for the best”. I came through Chattanooga Tn. on the night of Feb. 8. I-24 was backed up for over 20 miles. Nobody can plan for that. More and more states closing rest areas Delays at shippers and receivers. There’s no way to predict what will happen between point A and point B. Maybe we should start complaining when we see cars and pick-ups in truck parking areas in rest areas.
Aurora, CO blocked off the truck parking area. To be fair to Wal-Mart that spot was always a mess with trash and trucks parking like dum-dums.
My concern is where to buy groceries. I have been an OTR driver for twenty years and never had to depend on Walmart for parking. Proper trip planning is all you need. Whizkid is on the money.
There is no such thing about proper trip planning it doesn’t work
If you sat in a back-up for 3 hours due to an accident and finally started moving again at 11:30 pm, and only had 15 minutes left on your clock but a Walmart a few trucks in it was only 2 miles away, what would you do? I don’t depend on Walmart for a place to sleep either. But I sure as hell cant depend on just truckstops, rest areas, shippers and receivers. In the “modified” words of Forest Gump, truck parking “is like a box of chocolates, you never know what you’re gonna get”.
There is not enough truck parking in this country.
Wow you are hostile. When on the road I stop at Wally World to restock food and other items. They have the brands that I am Used to and prices I can afford.
I do the same, I pull into Walmart like every week or two and restock my truck with groceries and other essentials. Walmart should close this location down and let these few idiot complainers suffer
Actually there are several Walmart’s with long lines for truck parking. 30 years and you should know that. Trip planning can get screwed up by shippers and receivers. It only takes one problem to screw up plan. 30 years and you should know that too.
Your the crybaby. I drove for 20 years and I seen several Walmart’s as well as others have desinated parking with painted lanes. As far as your silly notion that trucking isn’t a 9 to 5 job is ludicrous at best. Everybodys got the same idea…..drive at night. Well guess what everybody’s doing during the day after driving all night. You need to find a new profession.
Mr no-it-all, there are more variables at play than as you say it “plan your trip”. It is a proven fact that there is a shortage of parking for big rigs. With the implementation of the ELD rule, traffic and weather can interrupt the best of planning. Sometimes a Walmart comes in handy for parking.
Your full of it buddy. Plan better? Thats such a crock of balony. If you have been on the road for 30 years and have never had a parking problem then i have to believe you are lying. I have had multiple possible stops planned, which in itself is not always possible only to find out there is no parking there. And, i drive my entire shift, if you leave 5hrs a night to find parking maybe and that is no guarantee. Your not a driver buddy!
Depending on the trip (Origination, destination, pick-up date and time, time taken to load, delivery date and time,, unexpected delays to wit snow strums, freezing fog, black ice, tornadoes, hurricanes, road work, bridge failures, etc.), it isn’t always possible for a driver to choose when he starts his/her day and/or ends his/her day if he/she wants to be on time for delivery.
If you have a constant stream of runs where you always get to choose the time of day you start and stop, LUCKY YOU!
We don’t all have it so good.
Stop being a curmudgeon. You know there’s not a lot of parking out there. When you start your run depends on when you pickup your load and other factors.
No sir it’s a 10hr shift with ELD’s.and it’s more truckers and less parking.nothing a driver can do but park at walmart when walmart is listed as a parking place on his app.but as for trucks blocking the view.thats a,joke man .if the four wheeler drives in the driving lane and not across it.no accedent happen.
There’s more trucks today than ever. Plus parking for trucks Is becoming less and less. The damn city ordinance ought to shut there pie hole. We supply the products all over.
You supper truckers and your plan to park B.S while I do agree with some points you made there’s no way every day goes as planned . Also some us don’t want to be around supper truckers and thier bull shit stories and idle all night trucks.
While we are not entitled to park at Wal-Mart some driver’s for years saw it a safe place to go.
Don’t belittle people just because thier story isn’t your own.
I have seen a Walmart with actual truck parking. Truck drivers spend a lot of money in Walmarts as that is the best place to shop. Large parking lots and good prices. Also what about the campers… block them from parking as well. Might as well block the delivery trucks too. If 4 wheelers knew how to drive properly around trucks there would be less problems with accidents. Most truckers are very safe drivers. Have to be as the new tiny cars are like a mouse compared with an elephant. Just sayin!
Some Walmart do have lines outlined just for trucks not all
That’s all good and fine, trip planning is key. However, if you run into accident traffic or Detours it eats at your time. And the days of E-Log make it that much tougher. I Assume your a super trucker that has never been delayed in accident traffic, inclimate weather or any other things out of your control.
Yes, they have done that very thing at the Walmart in El Paso, TX. On the west side of the store, there is designated big truck parking, it’s only about a dozen but they have them. Also there is another Walmart in Denver, CO with big truck parking.
Also, it’s Walmart policy for anyone traveling to use their parking lots to rest. If they’re not allowing that, it’s because the idiot city the Walmart is located in is more worried about appearances than truck driver safety.
I’m a trucker also sir!!! It’s not as easy as getting up early everyday. Some times you have to drive at night. Maybe that’s works for you but not everyone. With these eld’s you can burn a lot of time sitting at shippers and receivers. I’m not out her to live pay check to pay check so I drive whenever I can. It’s sad as a trucker you are not more sympathetic. Btw I came across what you typed LOOKING FOR A PLACE TO PARK. I’m on my way to Ennis tx and not a lot of places to park the time of night I’ll get there.
I agree. Many of the truckers are their customers also. They don’t understand it’s not feasible to call a taxi when they need to get stuff. I think that Walmart needs to pull out of Springfield, Illinois. This is BS.
EXACTLY! As for single stores and next to freeways WALMART has the largest parking lots ever! When have you ever seen a full Walmart parking lot? NEVER! You can even throw in a carnival and still have half a parking lot. Truck drivers aren’t given the luxury of pulling over anywhere to rest, since when has this country planned freeway truck rest stops for ONLY rest? No buildings. We have carpool parking lots next to intersections. Make some for Truckers.
All because some idiot Wal-Mart customer doesn’t like trucks on the lot. Trucks block view? What are they trying to see….lol.
Hey don’t deliver anything to Springfield il. ,then let see how the city feels , screw em, tired of it
Yeah because thats gonna happen….. take 2 truck drivers, cover them in superglue, and you still wont get them to stick together!!
Just refuse to deliver products to this city. When “members of the public” start paying more for everything they might just get the hint. I hope this walmart is able to charge more for things right off the bat. I stop at walmart to grab a few groceries during the week. In and out like hundreds of drivers everyday.
Exactly ,they don’t want us parking there let them figure out how to get there crap there without trucks.
Do you own your own truck Troy? Because that’s the only way you can refuse to deliver to anywhere unless your looking to lose your job.do you think the company gives a rats … about your feelings of a business is there in it for the money son so they will just kick you to the curb and keep there customer happy.
That’s inaccurate statement, whiz kid. I’ve been driving company truck since 89 and never been forced to go where I don’t want to. No sir.. I spent a lot of time in my younger days running in the 5 boroughs and can promise you this. I wouldn’t go they couldn’t afford me. About 4 months ago I turned down a ld into Chicago. Do to lack of safe parking. Enterprise car rental is a ph call away.
Springfield! State capital, has a hand full of cry baby’s that claim they can’t see around stationary (parked) big trucks in the parking lot? They (the cry baby’s) need to stay off the roads… I would like to see a list of names, if there is one, of complainants… My guess is, the whole deal is pushed by one power hungry bureaucrat that was looking to pad the Springfield slush fund and or is running for election of some local office position..
Another conspiracy theory
Walmart loves to close down their stores. I think this would be a prime candidate. Just the mention of them leaving would have the city whistling a different toon.
Yes indeed, close up the store,,,this is just another revenue scam because it’s none of their business what goes on in a private parking lot.
I tottaly agree. If the 4 wheelers can’t see due to trucks being in the lot then go shop somewhere else where you can see. This is not a city street or lot. Walmart should be allowed to let whomever they want to park on there PRIVATE property.
Totally agree!
What happen to private property ? Are all of these people of this town from old communist Germany? They, (the city council) want to butt heads and waste time and money with Wal-Mart for all the wrong reasons.. They are a narrow minded dictatorship not a council if they think banning trucks is the answer.
it’s our fault they can’t like drive in the lane.or stop at stop signs and line’s.this is crazy .so because 4wheelers speeding driving across lanes and going the wrong way and running into one another causing accedents.we got problems parking naw naw naw naw this is about free money an truck haters and walmart are local truck stop pay parking not making money .
Someone is using a big company like Walmart to help fund the city with large ridiculous fines.
Do the city officials know how trucking works? If you are delivering a load and your time runs out while it’s being unloaded, where do they anticipate the trucker to go? Will the city pay the DOT fines the trucker will incur for driving illegally?
This has nothing to do with safety, has everything to do with money. For once I agree with Walmart.
It’s not only Springfield. Juliet, Chicago and other surrounding areas are doing the same. Like the Federal Government they can’t see down the road, they’re only thing about what they can get now.
Hey lets just outlaw parking for all trucks everywhere! Woudnt that solve the issue? After all, even those big blue & white Walmart trucks are only used as rolling billboards, right? All that stuff people buy in the Wally stores just mushrooms-up overnight anyway…I think, that is…?
I think you hit the nail on the head.
Good idea. They regulate our driving hours because of safety reasons, which is fine, but then they outlaw or restrict parking which is totally insane.
When Mr Walton was alive,he made it ok for drivers to park at all walmarts.since his passing ,I’ve been to many w-marts and was ok to do my break.yes it’s alot to do with the drivers that leave the pee bottles and trash in the parking lot.if we (drivers )would use the trashcan that’s provided ,we might not be in this hard to find Walmarts that we can park
As I drove around the country I would ‘rate’ the truck-friendliness of Wal-Marts for future reference. The first thing to note is that all Walmarts have no truck or overnight parking signs on the light posts as corporate policy but it’s up to the local store management to decide whether to enforce it. This seems like one of those situations where it wasn’t the store management that cared but an overzealous local government which again is why all stores have the signs even if its not enforced. Now maybe if Springfield had more than two small truck stops with a total of 50 parking spaces and more than an hour’s drive from any other safe parking area then trucks wouldn’t resort to parking in Wal-Mart. And personally I think it’s typical bureaucratic b.s. that for want of larger painted parking spots the city is screwing Wal-Mart for tens of thousands in fines. Let’s see Wal-Mart jack up their prices to compensate for the expense.
I frequently load in Brenham, TX, with no parking within 25 miles. I usually go to the local Walmart, about a mile from my customer, and park in the far corner, then go in and talk to management. I find in many places, if you make the effort to talk to the store management, you can get a lot better treatment – especially if you go shopping there as well!
A number of times, I have had notes signed by management stating it was ok for me to park in the lot, and the police haven’t bothered me, once they see that note.
Umm, Wal-Mart corporate policy is to ALLOW truck parking, but it’s up to each store manager. Very few Wal-Mart’s have signs that say anything related to no truck parking.
Typical Illinois . The drivers should boycott Springfield.
Yes boycott lol you guys or a joke
Wish he’d just go away. He has no idea what a truck even is, much less actually drives one.
BS, not all Walmart have these signs, hell, some have truck parking spots.
I can’t see through semis, busses, pick up trucks, or other cars when I’m in my car, so really, ban all vehicles from the Walmart parking lot, for *SAFETY*!!
Sounds like the Walmart is pretty truck friendly though, so good on them. If Cabelas can have designated truck/rv parking, I don’t see why Walmart wouldn’t ever go for it.
It’s all about the Benjamins.
People are funny creatures. Up here in Toronto, Canada they also don’t like the big trucks. You know: noise, pollution, etc. But when developers built many condo towers so close to the highway, you can literally count the number of paintings on the living room wall while sitting in traffic, those condos were bought like hotcakes. A condo build near CN freight train line was bought up full before it was completed. Go figure.
The Toronto skyline has changed dramatically at Harbourfront over the past 40 years. All those condo’s were erected on land that was occupied by a Stelco Steel mill back in the 20’s-30’s. Pre-construction landscaping down there saw 100’s of acres of contaminated soil removed to depths of 9 metres. I wonder if real estate owners in the area are aware they’ve purchased property on what was once a toxic waste dump.
Yes they know, because a soil sample have to be done before they can build.
HAHA…Now thats funny Jeremy
You to Mack, yep thats another funny one!
Most Wall Mart store parking lots are designed for large trucks with plenty of parking space for cars, RV, and trucks.
Sounds like the local government in Springfield is just out of control.
If Wall Mart wants to allow overnight parking for truckers on their commercial property then so be it.
Nice money grab by the city of Springfield.
I’m surprised nobody caught that last little bit at the end.
They wouldn’t have been fined had they just designated spaces for trucks to use.
Hopefully they get out of the fine by instead using that money to actually designate some truck parking spots like many walmarts already have started doing. Especially in Nebraska.
Painting lines will not satisfy the crybaby who complained.
Exactly
I think that people posting should first get the facts straight. The Walmart in question is not in Springfield Il.; it is in the village of Southern View. So Springfield has nothing to do about it; talk to the village board. I know this because I have lived in Springfield over 13 years.
2nd There is very little long term truck parking ( over 8 hours) in the area.
I have to try to find parking each month for my hometime. Now I have one less place to find parking.
Ah wingitt, you need to look at the map again. Goto the citys website and do a search for “corporate city limits map”, right there you will see that the Walmart in question is clearly in the “city of Springfield, IL.
I thought I read that story in the news and you may be right. I believe they mention if the store closed down it would take jobs and other revenue from Springfield as well.
we truckers need to go on strike like that they could stop the bs that they have with us
Some of the Walmart’s I’ve been to don’t own the land they sit on and the parking lots are own by some other company. One example is Olive Branch MS. We can shop but got to leave after that.
i agree with most of you, but the fact is that now days with the restrictions and ELDs, you dont plan your trip based on your hours anymore. you plan your trip based on the time of day. if you have to sit at a shipper all day and it is 4 pm. then when you leave the shipper you go to the truck stop. you dont drive for a few hours because your clock has a few hours left. like I said drive by the time of day and not your hours. that is what the Government is forcing us to do. SO lets do it. truck driving is a 9 to 5 job now. at 5 pm I shut down no matter how many hours I have left. or you can work the night shift and drive all night.
Figures. Illinois closes half the interstate rest areas (but not the scales), and they pull this kinda crap…stinkin Lincoln…
The state of CT. is thinking about closing all of there rest Areas.
Sounds to me like these areas need all autonomous trucks to solve their problem of truck parking.
The trucking industry is the only industry that is regulated buy non Trucking personnel the FAA is regulated by retired pilot the AMA is regulated by doctors and the trucking industry is regulated by crybaby politicians no wonder we have a problem
There is an app for Walmart parking called “Walmart all parking”,Springfield,Illinois has three Walmarts and 1of them has a no parking policy due to the local ordinance.the other 2 allows overnight, you just need to call ahead for availability or follow the instructions as to where to park. The Walmart in question was warned several times regarding the violations and ignored it.the fine was justified.the drivers were lucky not to receive a fine as well.the city ordinances are posted on the lot.The Walmart app will show either a green “W” or a red “W”.the red ones mean NO “overnight”parking. You are allowed to park at these Walmarts long enough to get your supplies and then you must leave. And as far as planning,if you are in your last two hours of drive time, there are several parking options within a 135 mile stretch. I have found parking as late as 3am,so there is no excuse for running out of drive time.
I think the problem is that some truckers don’t just run in and get something and go. Or just rest off for the night and go. Some truckers don’t want to pay to park their trucks at a parking lot, and use places like Wal-Mart, loves, pilot and other truck stop to park for free. Then when we who are working can find a place to park when we need to. Managers should start towing them and we will see how much space becomes available
I’m an over the driver I depend on Walmart to get my meds and food. ELD law has really took its toll on my money. I’m making about $250 less a week. I also shop at Sam’s club! A lot of them are now posting no trucks
Instead of crying about the way were treated. Unite every driver should shut down till every state makes safe parking more available for us . We as drivers have more power then we use.
How the hell does one member of the community have that much influence? Must have politicians for sale in that town.
Well of course Gary, after all it is the state capital!
You know what I would be curious about, is whether or not the “city code” was in place when Walmart built the store, because if it was implemented after Walmart built there I would tell Walmart to give the finger to the City Council!
Up theirs!
sometimes a little foolery is necessary. Just pull you rig around back or at least out of public view and no one should have any complaints .
Amazing, just friggin amazing. The same people that don’t like, don’t want big scary ugly trucks anywhere near them in their own crappy lives, are the same A-holes that sit on their computers & phones while driving ordering 65% of the crap that our trucks are hauling to there local stores or local delivery centers.
I must also add & remind people that in every other form of Transportation aspect, (Planes, Trains & Boats) Smaller YIELDS to Larger, learn to respect the size, learn to drive with respect instead of forcing those of us that YOU All need, to watch out for all of your short-comings. GET OFF Your Phones people.
Well I think it’s about time to shut all down for a week or two. Just to show all these idiots that with our trucks AMERICA well stop .
What is the city’s problem with truckers. First they fine Wal-Mart $18,000 for letting trucks park there. They fined me for my husband parking in front of our house. Where is he supposed to park? Not at Walmart, and all truck stops have it posted that if you leave the cab your getting towed. He can’t park in my driveway because it’s up hill and I have a lung disease which makes it hard to breathe so I park there to be closer to the door. I just don’t see why they are cracking down on truckers. They can’t be always driving and they need to go home once in a while.
I just read this story and all I can say is the solution is simple don’t deliver or pick up in a town that treats drives like that
If all drivers would stick together we could get shit done the industry can’t fire all several million of us at the same time. But then again that would require 2 things 1. All drivers having same goals and some smarts. 2. No cut throats that are just out for themselves and screw everyone else. And we will never have both of this things ever.
New Boston,TX Walmart. DO NOT GO THERE!!!! There is a sign that you see after you turn onto the street that says deliveries only. City of New Boston cop sits in the driveway of WALMART and watches you leave. Then writes you a $163.00 ticket. Soooo…Wal-Mart gets $75.00 from me and the city gets $163.00 minus the kick back they give to Wal-Mart for being in on the scam. Guess what Wal-Mart and city of New Boston? No Trucks=No Product. Starve east Texas rednecks!
ATTENTION: For the sake of the WORLDWIDE EPIDEMIC of Human Trafficing; the solicitation & abduction of CHILDREN & WOMEN, I’d HOPE ALL large brick-n-morter stores like Walmart would LEGALLY enforce a “CARGO Check” before they let just ANY semi-truck park in our public lots!!!
honestly this is what we need a full scale trucker strike
The hostility from all the truckers commenting explains why ordinary drivers feel intimidated by your driving and parking practices. Try to see the otherside of the problem. I’m in my little car at the street leading out of the Walmart parking lot when an 18 wheeler trying to make a tight left turn in front of me doesn’t care that I have to move as far right as possible to make sure I don’t get run over. He doesn’t slow down or wait for me to get out of the way. There is also the case of the truckers who get their rig stuck when trying to get out of the parking lot and tie up traffic for hours. When truckers start behaving courteously then I will welcome them in the Walmart parking lot.
I just received a $450 fine at Walmart in Arlington Texas for parking after using Walmart for shopping I plan to boycott Walmart old truck drivers should
I’m not the driver, I know the law in all 46 states have different rules on highways.
My mom is 18 wheeler truck driver, and yes it is hard to find the place to shut down the hour for get some rest. There’s many Truck stop and other allows to parks the spot for large truck, but Wal-Mart’s parking.
My Wal-Mart doesn’t have the big trucks parking lot and other store do which that is connecting to other store like Target, Ross, Marshall, The Big 5 Good sports, Rites aid, CVS, and on and goes on the list. Also know can’t parks on city bus stop.
I don’t know where whizkid get that kind dumb idea, yes that’s totally bs’ing. This Whizkid is not being honest cause we know the facts.
I do agree needling upgrade the rest area more roomy for big trucks and more less for road trips car, van and truck.
Quick fix. Let’s refuse to deliver anywhere close to there and watch the town change there tune. When they find out that that’s how they get everything they ever used they will be glad to have a truck shut down in their driveways. Because they know it’s a shipment coming in. Truckers have more power then we think. We can change a lot by refusing to move just for a day or 2. This country would fall apart. Hours of service. Better pay. Health care. What ever you guys want could be yours. But you don’t have to listen to me. I’m just an unimportant truck driver. 😁
I agree trucker we should all stick together like back in the day. Alot of these people don’t realize how important truckers are. Truckers can shut down for a good week and everthing will hit the fan . The trains and planes can’t do 90% of truck loads. They really need to educate these hungry money idiot’s.
I have been driving for over 20 years. Ido my trip planning, but there are unexpected events that unexpectedly pop up to delay ne sometimes. I never depend on Walmart as a truck stop.want to change policy, stop shopping there and have family stop too. Hit them in the pocketbook. That will do more than anything else.
I was bob tail went in to buy groceries at walmart in crestwood,il. When i walked out supervisor cop gave me a $50 ticket. Where i parked there was no cars around me for 100ft. I parked outside corner away from everybody. They are starting to do this in all chicago walmarts so drivers watch out. I think if we stopped delivery to walmart in Chicago what kind of dmg that would cause.
Do the people get paid for complaining or the city council get paid by Walmart since the city is filing for money. ? What is the money going to be use for. Ahh maybe the city just need money Who is really complaining. Regardless of big trucks, 4 wheelers are going to continue to speed through the parking lot. Truckers normally park to the back of the parking lot, the side or the back side of the store. Oh Hell 4 wheelers speed through the Big Trucks parking lot at the truck stops and will take a parking space and they don’t even realize how unsafe and we still manage not to hit a lot of these aggresive 4 wheeler drivers.
Sure. Great. Penalize the men and women who are practically killing themselves, keeping our country moving. Nice going, politicians, as always.
(insert sarcasm, of course.)
