NO MILES!! You will be told you can make them but the best I did in 2 months was 2200 and tha was a stretch... I was a Spartanburg, SC driver I quit 2 days ago.. For one I was tired of having to call payroll about the things missing on my check the nail in the coffin was waiting for my direct deposit this Friday and it never coming in only to be told oh we switched to a new payroll system we sent you a check by mail Thursday.....
They are nice folks besides a few in Indy but NICE don't pay the bills messing with my money without informing me is a no no
Company is really from what I can tell for retired drivers I worked my 14 out just about everyday in traffic the amount of pay isn't worth it....be warned no good

What days you work and what you'll be paid are going to depend on what you run. Like my other post shows pay is on a sliding scale. When I first started I ran as much as possible and still was home every weekend. That weekend might have been Friday-Saturday or even Saturday - Sunday but that's trucking. If you want to know what your gonna make and run day after day then tell them you want a dedicated route and if ones open you'll most likely be put on it.
But I'll tell you if your looking for someone to hold your hand and wipe your butt then don't come here. To me one of the best things about it here is if your doing your job and not screwing around no one will bother you. If you need to be told what to do all the time, where to fuel, what roads to take, etc then keep looking. Not trying to be rude because I welcome anyone that wants to work here. Just over the crying.

I wanted to share for any one interested what information I have gathered so far about Venture. Venture is a smaller dry van company based out of Indianapolis, IN. They have 400 trucks as of now but are growing and hope to be at 500 by October. They have terminals in Indianapolis-IN, Lafayette-IN, Chicago-IL, Laredo-TX, Duncan-SC, Edison-NJ, and Los Angles-CA.
The orientation process is a day and a half filling out paperwork and meeting department supervisors. If you have experience then they give you a truck and a load and you get to it (as I've seen, maybe less experience you have more to do). New hires will do the same day and half orientation but then will spend the rest of the week doing 300 dock bumps. You'll be givin a tractor and a trailer and you'll do these at your own pace at the terminal. Do not skip the harder ones. Now's the time to take your time and learn the mechanics. Is it fun....not really but the first time you get out with your trainer you'll be glad you did them.
After those are complete and your left knee is screaming at you :biggrin_2559: you will go out with a local driver. The time spent with them will vary on your skills and what you have been hired on for. After that if your going regional or long-haul you will go out with a regional/long-haul driver for 3 weeks (maybe less). Lastly you will do a driving test with a FM and if they feel your good then let the good times roll.
At this point this is about all the info I can think of off hand. I can say the overall vibe here is great. Drivers are always helping out other drivers and I guarantee you that you will not meet a nicer owner.

man they promised me the moon. I could not get over 1800 miles a week. I sat for more than i drove but one thing they did was get me home. but home dont pay bills... I only lasted A month and i told them 3 times i need more miles or i gotta quit...When i told them i quit they said sorry we couldnt get you more miles...New trucks are ok though
