I worked for Tyson foods for almost 4 years they do not care about there drivers at all they leave you sit all day getting a trailer reloaded 3 times for weight issues with no pay then expect you to run all night with no rest, Dispatch is a joke being on hold for an hour to an. Hour and a half night dispatch never answers the damn phone, the shop has absolutely no mechanics, they don’t repair anything, They will steal from you as far as your earned wages your terminal mgrs is always supposedly in a meeting, I’m sure there probably braiding each others hair, because they sure don’t do anything else, Safety is the biggest joke of all you come to them with safety concerns and you are just ignored, they have no problem sitting you at a customer delivery for 8-10 hrs with absolutely zero compensation, and you can always see an orientation class with 10-30 new drivers when your wannabe Dispatchers tell you they have
No freight So if you don’t wanna work and Have your due wages stolen from you Please stay clear

The home time sucks, shop sucks rude and never get stuff done. Dispatcher never covered my hotel bill I had to pay out of pocket, 0 layover that’s a scam. Loads take hours to get ready and you’ll be worn out all the time waiting. Plants stink and they have scum bags working there with a million rules and territorial scum bag yard junkies that think they own Tyson making 18 a hour. Well id say the only positive was they got me some experience that’s it. I never expected much out of them. They ain’t your family and don’t care about you. That’s at home.
Pros
Free employee stock, cheap benefits
Cons
Crap shop, territorial yard junkies. Millions of rules with little pay. No layover or safety bonuses. Slim to none home time .Rude crap dispatchers. Long nights.

Miles average 2800+ avg pay $1300+ after taxes and benefits. Home time is based on how many days you stay out. 12 out 2 at home. I’ve had 2 dispatch managers and both of them did not care if I stayed home more than 2 days at home. I usually take 3-4 at home. You do spend a lot of time at Walmart/food lion and US foods. Walmart gets you in and out in about 3 hrs the other 2 good luck. Tyson to Tyson loads are the best as they can keep you running. Biggest check was $1700 lowest about $1300 this is take home. They try to keep you away from New York City/Chicago. You do not go West coast unless that’s where you’re located at. Overall probably the best starter company I can think of. No front facing camera.
Pros
Home time
Benefits
Flexibility
Fill up at any truck stop

Tyson used to be good but now they are woke. Closing plants an hiring migrants an using the excuse they are doing the jobs not one else wants. They have teamed up with a bug company an putting bugs in their food an calling it raising proteins. They scream safety but when u mention a safety issue they ignore it. You will spend a lot of time sitting around. Been out 2 weeks an never used more then 40 hours in my clock. Trucks have had so much so called safety items added all u ever hear are buzzers going off. If u go under a bridge an the sensor picks up the bridge it will slam the breaks on. They offer layover pay but after your sit they have an excuse why they wont pay it. They do not charge customers detention pay so it is nothing to sit in a dock for 5 or 6 hours while they unload companies who do. They dispatch you on loads that wont be ready for many hours an in many cases will come out even later. They treat outside carriers better then their own drivers even at their plants. They will turn you around if your fuel tank reads 3/4 of a tank but I have seen many outside carriers come in with an 1/8 of a tank an nothing. My recommendation if u want to do well is work for someone else an pull tyson loads
Pros
Home time, cheap benefits
Cons
Do not respect their drivers or their time. Cheat drivers out of money they they have earned even according to their own standards. They talk a good game about supporting veterans but it is only talk. Driver appreciation days they cook food for the drivers. In over 10 years here I have had one meal. Seems like when a plant is having something they only ones who benefit are the yard dogs an local drivers.

Hired to be home every week, like all the others, LIES, LIES, LIES. Forced to be out, MOSTLY JUST SITTING, NOT GETTING PAID, for 12 days+, heaven forbid you set hometime and really need to make the dates. Gave my notice and they're STILL keeping me out past it. Stay away, they tell you there are many millionaires in tyson, yah, all with the last name of tyson. Don't buy the hype, all dispatchers are not former drivers, like Quincee, he's a fuc$#%@ moron. There are many better private fleets out there. My best check was $1500, and it only happened once in 90 days, go as low as $400 often, why, because you SIT so much. If you're not wanting for a load, you're waiting for the poor excuse of the Springdale shop, seen faster turn around at Loves. Try Sherwin Williams, that's a private fleet to be proud to call home.
