Worst company I have ever worked for. Do not waste your time driving for this company. A lot of micromanagement. A lot of favoritism. They will ask you to do local work and then give you a hard time getting you paid for it ( finally telling them no more local work ). Holiday pay is the same during Thanksgiving and Christmas. ( They offer it but will not pay you). The first six weeks they will keep an eye on you to see you are getting the miles, but after that you are on your own. They have a lot of bonuses but you will only hit one bonus the first month you are there. Safety will try to write you up for things that are not illegal, once you make a rebuttal on the subject on the write up, you will get retaliation, bullying and intimidation tactics from the staff. You can forget about any labor laws or OSHA regulations being followed here. It is run like a “roofing crew” (you do it- no ifs ands or buts.) It is a border company run with with the Mexican culture system- no racism intended, my parents are from Mexico. If you decide to work here, make sure you “pucker up”, bring your brown nosing abilities and be ready to bow and kiss the ring of power- don’t forget the lube ???????????? Good luck. Make sure to read other reviews from different drivers on this company.
Also, team miles are based on various solo runs being combined to give you miles. Those 75 cents they are offering teams are only after you reach 4500 miles per week, if you don’t reach those miles it is 64 cents. (This, they will let you know on the first day of orientation after you have already left your previous job- I asked to attend orientation before leaving my other job, they told me I coul not. They control the delivery and pick up times on loads, hence, sometimes waiting hours to deliver a load. At the end of the week you will loose 24-36 hours on the road just on waiting time ( Combine these hours lost with your 34-48 hour reset and you will be lucky if you make over 4500 miles. Those front facing cameras are used to look into your cab by way of the mirrors on the hood (I think they enjoy watching free peep shows from the drivers ????????????) The yard and the trailer locations are in two different places. So when you are heading out, you will loose 15 minutes driving time to go pick up your load at the trailer yard, you will then see how much it weighs to see if you can fuel without being overweight. If you can fuel or need to scale, you can only fuel at the Pilot at exit 37, whether you are heading west or east with the load you are hauling. You are only allowed to fuel at certain locations and have to call in for authorization if you need to fuel anywhere else. You are not allowed to stop anywhere for the next 200 miles whether you are hauling a load of Pepsi or “rubber dog ####”, (so bring a bucket in case you need to go to the restroom to take a ????????????) This is in effect whether you have a trailer or are bob tail. “I asked about this and was told it was company policy, when I asked if I wasn’t allowed to use the restroom in case of an emergency, “she” would not answer- She being Jenny.
I have been driving trucks for over 35 years. 25 years in the private sector, the others for the militaryand government.
Heading back to Landstar.
Pros
Maintenance of equipment is impeccable. It would be a good idea to keep some spare parts of door panels or handle assembly parts handy so drivers won’t have to loose 4 days of work waiting on truck to get fixed.
Cons
Too quick to fire people whether it’s their fault or not.

I worked for this company recently for 8 months. This is NOT an honest or transparent company. From the start, drivers are the most important but you will soon find out that the office staff and trucks are more important than the drivers. Office staff receive their benefits long before drivers do. If you scratch their pretty truck you’re going to get only one written warning before you’re terminated. If you care about your employment history, then stay away from this company. HR, the owner’s daughter, is easy to fire drivers for even the smallest things, like complaining, in my case. This is a female ran company and they want the men drivers to bow down to them even though they’re wrong and you didn’t do anything wrong but make a complaint. Do not stir up that hornets’ nest! You have no advocate on your side and no one gets away. My codriver friend got fired for saying “Ok woman” in a sarcastic way. I got fired because I asked safety “What is wrong with taking US 54 through NM.” Safety will tell you to shut down when the wind is blowing 15 mph or higher. You can’t move until you’re told to. You will get $75 for the shut down. You don’t get paid for extra miles because your route is longer because they have a list of highways off limits to drivers. They only want to keep the best 200 drivers without growing, so if you’re not what they want later on, you will be fired for being late too many times even though you weren’t. Your tablet in the truck will be their proof you’re always late. If you need more information that’s honest, you can call me and I’ll get you in touch with my other driver friends who have been through this, 9726264242. They don’t care about you or your family and you don’t get warnings here if you make one of the staff upset.
