My husband and I have been driving team with Road Legends and at times it can be challenging, but we have no issues with this company. Home time is not an issue with them. Family time in our opinion is no issue either they get us home to spend with family and they pretty much let drivers off for holidays unless drivers want to stay on road. They are flexible if you need off for medical reason to get it taken care of and they even check up on you. They take good care of there maintenance on the trucks and your not sitting at no terminal to get it fixed most of the time everything is done on the road. Over all they are a really good company to work for or my husband and I would of moved on.. We are please to be working for this company

Pros

Flexible home time and holidays, well maintained trucks, Good Pet Policy

Cons

Would like it if they had had some contract freight

Been here 5 years and I’ve enjoyed every bit of it. I’ve read other drivers having problems that I can’t seem to grasp how. Maybe they’re buying expensive fuel that eats up their settlements, or toll roads, etc. The communication is super clear, work hard you get compensated well. My truck has been performing well and I’ve never been forced to do anything. I’m in total control so there’s no room for me to complain. Their job is not to teach you how to be successful. It’s simple, they put in a truck and dispatch you. No one is going to hold your hand. Good money doesn’t come easy. Learn the industry, adapt to the frequent changes and push yourself.

Pros

Being your own boss. Pay is decent once you learn the ropes and how to balance your lifestyle.

Cons

No fuel surcharge

I've been here 5years now. And they treat me like a king here. They are dedicated to you succeeding here. They do everything they can to help you succeed. I meet one the owners not long ago and he personally worked on my truck for 5hrs trying to figure out what's was going on with it. I really was impressed by this. He treated me like a friend and with respect and kindness. He even knew who I was before I enter duse myself. The whole team here from admin to safety to maintenance team and dispatchers are awesome. I have never had a bad time with dealing with anyone in this company. They do allow you to pay your truck off unlike most lease purchase companies. Now depending on what type of driver you are depends on your success here.i mean your trying to be a owner operator so acknowledge like one and run your business effectively. Just run your hrs out everyday and be on time and don't hit anything and you will do fine here.

Pros

Awesome people here all around

Cons

I like to see more transparency on pay settlements

I have had the pleasure of working here for the past 10 years and can tell you I have thoroughly enjoyed the majority of my time here. This company has done a lot of growing and expanding in my time here going from right just under 50 truck maybe to over 400 trucks. With that leap in trucks has they have also had many ups and downs in growing and expanding their other areas such as maintenance, dispatching, accounting, etc. However, despite some of the growing pains, I am still a firm believer in this company and what it stands for, and know they are definitely committed to my success. We are all family here at this company, and I am proud to be a part of this family. There are a lot of pros when it comes to this company, but on a truck driver side of things, I will list some of the more important. Home time is always a big one and in the past 10 years they haven’t missed getting me home when I have asked to go one time. This company will let you run and run and not take you by the house but as soon as you make a plan with them to get you home then they will get you there. Pay has always been dependent on the market for the most part. Our dispatchers are always trying to negotiate the most money they possibly can out of the brokers. Despite what some reviews would make you think that it’s somehow road legends fault for not making money, you have to look at the fact that you are paid as a lease operator from a company that runs off the spot market. You have to have some willingness to actually run if you want to make money here which I have heard there are plenty of drivers who don’t want to. I have never had an issue making money here, but I also put in the time and effort to make it happen. Maintenance has come a very long way from when I first started to where they are now. Our maintenance team now work very hard day and night to keep these trucks rolling. The gentleman in charge of our maintenance department is always learning and improving on ways to streamline maintenance on our trucks to keep downtime to a minimum during a break down. They are as well always looking at new ways to try and minimize future breakdowns by going to different conferences around the country and trying to use products such as the green APU or solar panels to prevent even more wear and tear by idling. Our maintenance department is constantly looking to expand as well hopefully towards getting our own shop soon. Our dispatchers are very good at what they do and have grown a lot. Starting with just a small team out of a tiny room to taking up multiple floors in a separate office building. Our dispatchers team has done amazing building relationships with different brokers and shippers to make us drivers some of the best money on the market. All our dispatchers are very good negotiators and will always fight for more. They constantly are looking at trends in the market to find areas in the country who are paying above market rates for the week and they try to run you in and out of those areas to make you as much money as you can. The best part is, even though it’s a little competitive between dispatchers on who earns drivers the most, they will all ban together to ensure not one driver goes without freight if one of the dispatchers is struggling to find you a load.

Pros

Pros are listed in the main review

Cons

Not too many cons with this company, like every company out there tho we do have our ups and downs as well. My biggest complaint when it comes to this company is communication. This goes for pretty much every department. With growing in the number of trucks, drivers, and even back office employees, communication tends to falter a little. That is also why as a driver you sometimes need to stay on top of them a little and make sure they are doing what you need them to do.

Everyone here is great to work with. They are helpful with everything as long as you ask questions and details about everything with your truck, maintenance and pay. You do have to work hard to receive the money you want like any other job or owner operator needs to do. You do have to watch your fuel spending cause you are running your own business.

Pros

Great people. You do pay your truck off when your lease ends. They help you as much as they can so you can secure your business.

Cons

Home time but that's the price to pay for having your own business
