Time for some truth! This company may seem like a good company, but it's not. After double digit years of loyalty I have walked away due to the constant lies and disrespect and unprofessional hostile environment. Dispatchers can NOT tell the truth if their life depended on it. They use colorful terms to make you feel needed and respected when they are in fact telling lies. They will also try to use scare tactics and manipulation to get you to take runs even when your on vacation or sick or just taking some time off. When that don't work they'll try and gaslight and guilt trip you into going even thought they say, NO FORCED DISPATCH. When that dont work they will "punish" the driver by not giving them a run or give a solo run to a team. EVERYTHING THAT GOES WRONG IS THE DRIVERS FAULT, no matter if it's a load issue (even though it's preloaded trailers) or truck issues or impossible appointments.. be ready for everything to be your fault. 24/7. Also lets talk money, the money they advertise is a joke, you'll only make 6 figures if you always go up to the pacific north west which only a select few get that treatment, or if your okay with never being home and doing non stop relays. Those select few I mentioned earlier, they are all buddy buddy with Upper management and have made deals for special treatment, and believe me they get it. Hard work and loyalty means nothing here. Also they say "no touch freight" yet another lie, you will be unloading freight by hand at least 85-90% of the time. And you will be putting these rigs in places they definitely SHOULD NOT BE! The shop and maintenance personnel are a joke and honestly their mistakes will cost you as well especially in DOT Inspection tickets. And when not if you get a ticket or failed inspection your ticket will be posted up in the drivers lounge for EVERYONE to see.. they expects you to be driver, loader, mechanics and everything in between. So remember everything is your fault and everyone there will lie to your face! Family, and family emergencies including a death in the family mean nothing to the management at Palmetto state unless your one of those select few I mentioned earlier. I could honestly keep going but I feel I've already wasted enough of my life and energy with this company. So I walked away and I only hope this helps someone else out there.
Pros
Honestly the other drivers were the only good thing.
Cons
Legit everything, but mostly the management
