I’ll tell it to you straight just like they tell it to you straight. It’s a good company, but no better than any other mega carrier. They’ll put anybody with a pulse in a truck, just like mega carriers. Expect to be home every weekend, but not for long. Expect many phone calls about your scorecard, certified red, safety, blah blah blah. Expect to have your driving critiqued by “coaches”. If you don’t drink the Nussbaum Kool aid then you will not fit in and be happy. I will call things as I see them. I don’t sugar coat anything. You will succeed here and make money, but you will also put up with a bunch of stuff. Just like any other company, there’s drivers that will bend over backwards for them and those drivers will just make you sick to your stomach. I personally think Nussbaum is in it more for the popularity than anything else. They WILL take care of you, you will be paid fair, you will have good benefits and equipment. They WILL do their best to keep you moving. They WILL NOT actually listen to you if your view on something differs from theirs. They claim to, but they rarely actually consider different viewpoints. That’s that. Would I recommend them? Yes and no. Just depends what you want out of a company more than anything. There is no perfect company, just a perfect match. This is NOT where I want to be any longer than I need to. I’m only still here because it’s convenient for me and that’s it. I’m tired of everything else.

Pros

Not any more than the next guy. Convenient for me.

Cons

About the same as any other mega carrier. Brent said many years ago they won’t ever be like mega carriers, but they sure do a lot of mega carrier things so take it for what it’s worth.

This company is all hype. It’s all image. They’re basically just like any medium- mega in that they operate in the same exact fashion culturally. You are the driver (you’re expendable), you’re not the favored office staff (degree holder) sitting behind a computer barking at the peasants doing all the actual work. Their dispatchers are/ can be just as incompetent as anywhere else. Do anything that rubs them the wrong way, and you’ll see their true image quickly. You can believe all the good hyped up stuff this carrier does this and that, from reviewers all you want, but that’s all it is— hype.

Pros

Decent pay.

Cons

They care more about their company ratings and reviews than they do you.

Mr Nussbaum was trying to lead me into a review using other drivers !? I drove for 37 years accident and ticket free that says it all. My advice is if you feel uncomfortable or you feel led from and into something your unsure of STOP and think a fleet is like being married your led your told and given permission how to drive a truck. I’m old school and being TOLD not to drive at night why did you move the truck !? Why Why Why I can’t be bought lectured and being told how to drive a truck but you are here he had a good driver I was I thought and I was proved wrong … by a young man 38 years younger than me and never driven a truck and this man was approved to how and teach a woman that has bonus’s 0 accident 0 tickets and now daily being told I took an on ramp to fast close the skirts only drive from 07:00 - 17:00 they breaking automatic well there’s nothing like it until your trying to pass another it slams on the breaks and cuts you short. I learned very quickly how to bypass that. Another driver saying you scared me and because your brakes work for you and being governed and you don’t want to stay in the left lane 8 miles later he had passed me 5 times from Illinois to Colorado yes I had a dog so every 4th & 5th hour we took bathroom brakes and one Driver to Another we are told to tell on each other NO NO NO I DID NOT I’m 60 now and when I left I had gone through 5 trucks because everyone of them broke down and now I had my 5th I was heading west not realizing im 38 miles away for state line where the California fires were the one 2 boys playing with fireworks, a dispatcher called me right around the time I started seeing soot through the air I had to get turned around the tracking on my truck wasn’t coming up anymore 83 feet of vehicle and the US route was to small I grabbed the tablet saw a point where I could stop out of danger and to be safe I lost the call so now I’m on my own and I went a bit further and flipped around using a driveway with a pull off I can drop the trailer but I didn’t want that if I didn’t have to 30 minutes maybe not even my phone rings its this kid who said he just received the alert a hard brake on the opposite side of road with the tablet on my steering wheel was just made ARE YOU KIDDING ME 38 miles away and this is what you wanting to talk about I hated my job I hate trucks I hate people and now I quit I sat in Colorado for 5 days I had my first incident ever in my life my head is no longer in it. Mr Nussbaum had a good driver he didn’t need to change I’m me and if I wanted a camera while sleeping eating pooping driving I will never drive a truck again and I won’t in 2019 those phone calls still linger in the back of my mind I had my 1st accident I broke over 30 bones I fell 9 feet head 1st cracked my skull crushed my throat jaw ear drum and anything that didn’t break was crushed and fractured and all my organs were crushed SOUNDS FUN no it was never fun it was a life style it was me it’s what I did a life and love like I never knew. I will never drive again I was on workman’s comp from 2019 - 2023 disabled and I can’t walk or stand without help my collar bone is in my throat so eating isn’t a luxury anymore and there will not be any more surgeries because I can’t breath so don’t ever think your not good enough because you are a fleet is to be taken with a gifted heart and like divorce go with your gut because it takes only 9 feet to ruin the rest of your life.
