Don’t do it that’s all I have to say. Operations Manager and load planners have no idea what they are doing. Equipment is old and breaks down all the time. I won’t even get started on the shop hands, none of them are even certified to work on the trucks.

Pros

Cons

Pay is low.

They tell you it's a family and Christian based company... perhaps it once was when the father was living. I heard great things about him; however, the new owners are not so much... Majority FM are new and don't have a clue. The few good people there don't outweigh the terrible people. It's only good for starting and getting experience. They really can careless about their drivers.

Pros

Starter experience

Cons

Not for family men

Where to start…. STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY!!! In total I have worked for them for 3 years, so I’ve been here long enough to know what I’m talking about. HOME TIME- “every weekend” that really means Saturday. You’ll get home Friday evening and have to leave Sunday morning. PAY - you will be lucky to gross $1000 a week Also if your truck breaks down at your house you will NOT get breakdown pay. If they send you home early due to no loads (which happens often) you will NOT get layover pay Trucks are absolute Garbage and have no power to pull a trailer. People in safety have nothing better to do then sit and watch cameras all day while stuffing their face with doughnuts. Then call and tell you how to drive a truck that they can’t even drive. The owners were handed this company by their father and have absolutely no idea how to run it, stay away, go absolutely any where else to work. Choose Montgomery Transport they are a great flatbed company that actually know how to treat drivers.

Pros

Zero , worst flatbed company out there.

Cons

Any and everything you can think of

Overall good company if you’re new too trucking and looking to get experience. Safety and training will teach you the ways. Pay is overall decent but can be inconsistent at times. Hope you love hauling Lowe’s and Sheetrock loads! I averaged about 15-1700ish before taxes. Bring home about 12-1400

Pros

Pay is decent but can be inconsistent at times.

Cons

Try to micromanage you. If you stop by the house and you have a load going less than an hour and half away they get mad. A lot of sitting at Lowe’s DCs and not getting paid your detention pay that you’re “suppose” to rate. Trucks are slow. Trailers are outdated.

McElroy

Not bad, the agility tests were a small workout, up and down a ladder 10 times, picking up tarps, going up and down to your knees and looking under a table, can't remember the rest. Piss tested twice, hair test, and the cpm is I believe zip code to zip code. This will most likely be a one year job and move on. After training, it's 46cpm weekly.

McElroy Orientation not what I expected AT ALL

McElroy Orientation not what I expected AT ALL

I went to mt pleasant for McElroy and have to say that orientation isn't where you learn to back or drive. They show you what is needed to pass driving test and let you practice for hours, they are not there to teach you things you should've learned before passing your cdl test. McElroy is not a teaching company like swift or others, they are a flatbed company who expects you to know how to handle the truck but will teach you securement.

It is a great company, i hope you make it through orientation to be able to appreciate what a good company they are.
