Former Employee - Sep 1, 2022
Pros
Generally good freight, and freight lanes (mostly PA to Atlanta and PA to Chicago area) three very sexy lady dispatchers, a great driver manager. That old Jones Motor building in Spring City was amazing, too. Made ya feel like you were on your way to a high school class in the 1940s!
Cons
Claimed I damaged a trailer, when in reality, an apparently careless forklift driver loading plastic body part racks had put several punctures in the roof. I averaged only around 2,000 mpw during my jaunt with this outfit, and that simply didn´t cut it with me.
Former Employee - Dec 18, 2021
Pros
Fast on time pay and 150 good agents
Cons
None worth mentioning

You gotta work with the right agents to get good loads and you are welcome to look on your own boards and find loads. Pay is 74 percent of the freight pay. Any other stuff and surcharge money is 100 percent to you Last i checked. You can get the pay loaded into your fuel card usually within 2 to 3 days of sending in paperwork or you can opt for weekly or monthly payroll options. I run a step deck and constantly fill out my trailer. If you wanna wait around for the agents or the office to call you with some loads this will not work for you. But if you line up your own loads and have direct control and communication with the agents to increase your profits I would seriously consider it. It is very flexible and the potential for making money is there if you are willing to put in the time to get moving. They use Paper logs or electronic(laptop logs) or on board recorder if you would like. Tire discounts, fuel discounts etc. I am happy here.

I know with Jones its all about the agent you are loading with because of different rates, info I have is several years old, was 76% of 98% due to cargo ins. ded. pulling your own flat or step trailer, you can pull thru outside agents but will be paying theirs an jones % of load, if you pulled co. van it was close to no chose of next load, you can call agents off list to get a feel of what they load near you?
