They freight Guarded us for our first time cancel after working years with them for years and never missing a beat. They sent a Rate Con without specs and expected driver to drive 200 miles and be confident that the load will fit on his bed. I've been a five star company with them and they flagged me over one load. It was our driver who made the decision and he had every right to if he wasn't sure we could take after receiving the rate con with no exact Dems. I have reported them to FMCSA. I will not wish this one anyone.

They double broker a lot constantly telling you to check in at the shipper under a different company name, because the company that is listed on ur truck doors the broker won't do business with. To many agents over seas. And management encouraged double brokering. That's the easiest way to go to federal prison as a driver, agents and managers. And also pay thousands of dollars in restitution. PS: look at the real cases of double brokering in Google and tell me if is worthy to follow that practice for a few thousand dollars.

Pros

Showing the example of what no to do as a trucking company by illegal practice

Cons

Too many Illegal practices.

Don't waste your time unless you like getting robbed...policies change every month just to steal money...beware of the Driver/recruiter they have in their pocket...teams up with dispatcher on loads...literally caught office making up DOT laws...and the list goes on

Although I'd heard many good things about Jones Motor, it wasn´t until I drove for Jones Express as a company driver that I began to smell the ..... coffee. The International cabover I started with could shake, rattle, and roll with the best of them! A bright spot with JX is that, without fail, they got me home every single weekend during my eight-month stint with them.

Pros

Generally good freight, and freight lanes (mostly PA to Atlanta and PA to Chicago area) three very sexy lady dispatchers, a great driver manager. That old Jones Motor building in Spring City was amazing, too. Made ya feel like you were on your way to a high school class in the 1940s!

Cons

Claimed I damaged a trailer, when in reality, an apparently careless forklift driver loading plastic body part racks had put several punctures in the roof. I averaged only around 2,000 mpw during my jaunt with this outfit, and that simply didn´t cut it with me.

I was leased to Jones Motor for 38 years and retired recently. A great company that has the ability to change with the ever changing trucking industry. In the trucking industry those that can’t change to keep up with current demands, laws and requirements are soon gone and Jones was always on the ball. They also have a great group of agents, many with customer freight. My coordinator in Limerick was awesome and when a issue arose she was on it. For 38 years they paid me every dime I earned and never late. I would highly recommend anyone wishing to lease equipment to strongly consider the Jones Motor Group Limerick Pa.

Pros

Fast on time pay and 150 good agents

Cons

None worth mentioning

You gotta work with the right agents to get good loads and you are welcome to look on your own boards and find loads. Pay is 74 percent of the freight pay. Any other stuff and surcharge money is 100 percent to you Last i checked. You can get the pay loaded into your fuel card usually within 2 to 3 days of sending in paperwork or you can opt for weekly or monthly payroll options. I run a step deck and constantly fill out my trailer. If you wanna wait around for the agents or the office to call you with some loads this will not work for you. But if you line up your own loads and have direct control and communication with the agents to increase your profits I would seriously consider it. It is very flexible and the potential for making money is there if you are willing to put in the time to get moving. They use Paper logs or electronic(laptop logs) or on board recorder if you would like. Tire discounts, fuel discounts etc. I am happy here.

I know with Jones its all about the agent you are loading with because of different rates, info I have is several years old, was 76% of 98% due to cargo ins. ded. pulling your own flat or step trailer, you can pull thru outside agents but will be paying theirs an jones % of load, if you pulled co. van it was close to no chose of next load, you can call agents off list to get a feel of what they load near you?
