Q: Can anybody give info about this company? Thinking about going there after I'm done with school.
A: Falcon hauls lots of car parts out of Texas doing round trips for the auto plants in Michigan and Ohio, etc.

· I've
been driving OTR since 1993 and have well over 1 million miles. Needless to
say, I've been around the block a time or two. In 23 years of driving I have
worked with 5 trucking companies, some good some bad. But Falcon Transport
takes the cake when it comes to horrible companies to drive for.
Seldom can the safety department be reached, usually voicemail with no return
call. Equipment is garbage and nothing like they advertise during recruitment,
a lot of their trucks shouldn't be anywhere near the road.
· Falcon Transport is by far the worst company I've worked for. You should see some of the equipment they have. How they are able to get around DOT is anyone's guess.
· Their
ad showed a nice black Peterbilt with a green falcon paint scheme. After
orientation the junk showed up and I opted to give them the benefit of the
doubt in hopes it was just a few trucks that were junk and being new it was
part of the initiation. Turns out the Peterbilt is just a recruiting tool and
few company drivers actually have them. Their 2012 Internationals aren't too
bad but still have high miles. the rest are 2005 and older Internationals that have
to go in the shop after every run.
Without a doubt I will be looking for a new company this week. Never thought it
would happen to me but I fell hook, line and sinker for their sales pitch.
Posting this thread to help others avoid the same mistake.

Falcon's Flatbed Division used to be a company called Compass. Falcon's dry van division is that Chevy Cruse , General Motors Plant in Youngstown, Ohio. Falcon has the old Compass accounts. like Acelermittle, US Steel, Fraily and schilling Gent, Kentuckey, North American Stainless. FALCAN PULLS DOUBLE 48 FOOT FLATBEDS FROM YOUNGSTOWN, OHIO TO GARY, INDIANA and back, on the turnpike

Falcon transportation is based out of Youngstown,Ohio. I worked for this company, doing short haul to the GM plant in Kansas City,KS. This company is by far the worst trucking company i have ever encountered. I am not a disgruntled employee, I am concerned for the well being and safety of the drivers that currently work for this company, doing the short haul to GM in Kansas City. Falcon has been operating out of Kansas City since October 2015. The equipment is unsafe and not DOT compliant. There management team in Kansas City is a complete joke. They are disorganized and not trained to handle the basic need to know information to manage a trucking terminal. Since i have started working for the company back in October 2015, the pay scale has changed five times. Every time the pay was changed the drivers were not informed of the changes until they received their paycheck, and noticed that they were not paid in full for the amount of money that was originally promised/ discussed. In addition to not being paid the management team will ask you to work over 12 hrs and tell you to add the overtime to the next day so you keep your logs legal, but you won't be compensated for the work you have done. Instead, some drivers have been accused of stealing hours. If you decide to work for this company which i strongly urge any driver not too, please keep a record of all conversations or interactions with the management team and recruiters. If you can take photos of any paperwork they give you in regards to your pay or the hours they ask you to work. Please do so, it is imperative you cover your ### because this company will screw you over in any way possible. Good luck and stay safe drivers!

Q:
Does anyone have any info on their intermodal division? I know they have a
pretty bad reputation on their flatbed and van side, but being home every night
is pretty tempting.
from Falcon:
The intermodal position will pay 35% of the line haul with the average line
haul being $250 (you would make $87.50) with the ability to haul 3-5 loads a
day (3 loads x $87.50 = $262.50 per day) and you would be home each day at the
end of your shift.
It's about what I make running linehaul from Pittsburgh to JFK and EWR 3 nights
a week. My healthcare will also go down to $9 a week which is a giant
difference even though it most likely is a lot crappier, but I never really
have needed it. Though at this point in my life burger king is more tempting
than running to JFK all the time with e-logs.
A: Thanks for looking at us. I think you will see that the problems of the past are largely being corrected. We've purchased 155 new trucks and our safety scores are dropping quickly. Intermodal is a new division for us, but we are very excited about it. As for the health insurance, for $9 per week you would be on the same health insurance plan that my family is on. We like it. Hope to hear from you.
A: Well 2 days before I was to leave for orientation, I got the call saying the Pittsburgh intermodal wasn't panning out and instead offered me exactly what I didn't want, an otr position. So needless to say, I'm still with my company.
