I have been running for Epes since August 2012. I wasn't sure about doing this run since I have not had good experiences with local running in the past and always find myself back out OTR but I wanted to have more home time with my family and they were offering a dedicated local run out of Minersville, PA just about 35 miles from my house, home every night so I took a chance with them and it was worth it. They are a decent company to work for and the miles are pretty good. Averaging 400 miles/day. The benefits are pretty decent to. You get alot for the money. They will run you if you show that you are here to make money and do not play around. Like I told them I am here to work and make money to take care of my family, you give me the miles and I will run them. I will keep the truck rolling till I burn the tires off the truck as long as you let me and run me legal. They give you a $3000 sign on bonus so that is definitely an incentive and safety bonuses to add some more icing. The dispatchers are cool they work with you which is hard to find in this industry, for instance when I need a little extra mileage I will work on the weekend or just stay out one or two times a week and they are willing to work with you on that. It's cool to find a company that takes care of their drivers. If you are in the Northeast PA area and looking for a good company to work for check them out.... I am glad that I did.

I have been told the same thing time and time again...EPES was great until they became a 'starter company'. I've def had my problems here....2 people on this forum can account for that....but, in reality I have nothing but experience to show from here. Yes, I get home every week! Yes, I'mactually having the best weeks I've EVER had here(miles and paywise)....but with a newborn, a 7 year old, and a wife who lives in a 2 bedroom townhouse.....I need to make more money and take care of my family in a modern way....meaning 70-90k being away from home. I can get 2 jobs and make what I'm making here....at 42cpm! I know you don't see EPES as a 'starter company' but in all honesty, they have become one and have been one for a few years now....just ask Flying! I've been here almost 4 years and I was new when I started! SDaniels was here for over 10 years, and when he started you had to have a minimum of 3 years experience. But yes, you ARE right when it comes to being better than Werner, Schneider,PAM,USA,Swift(cough, cough) lol pretty much the best starter company on the EC!

Ever since I switched over to the Lowes dedicated in Ga, pay has gone up, home time has gone up, like my DM very much. So I got this 2014 brand new and it's got 383k on it so I told Tina to give me one of those new KW's so she said my name is on one of those that are being serviced next week.

I do quite well on the dedicated. Doing about 12 loads every 5 days and that pays $12 per load...2400 miles at .43cpm, so that is about $1200 a week give or take. $60+ a year. So ya see, I'm not your average driver. I'm a very satisfied driver, and Epes takes care of me. Like I tell anyone, if you're not happy, move on. I'm not going anywhere.

Just
cleaned out my Truck five minutes ago. Drove for them for seven days and had to
call it. Castrated Trucks that cant pull a incline faster than 56, low mile
dispatches with way to much time. Stayed out my first weekend to run some
miles. Was given two dispatches totaling 500 miles. To many restriction for me
and don't even get me started on their high value loads and not being able to
stop at all in the first 200 miles!
The Magtec device alone is worth quitting over!
Im not saying Epes is a bad place to work, just not a good fit for a Driver
that expects to run and enjoy the freedom of being a Truck Driver. Epes has
it's place in the Industry, a good place for new Drivers. If one is experienced
and likes freedom, one will feel imprisoned there.
DM was a sweet heart, weekend Dispatch was clueless as seemed their Maintance
associates. Recruiter did tell me the Company had no Idling policy when I
asked. In Orentation, bombshelks were dropped. No handless headset, no pulling
on side of road, no U-Turns and a 30% Idle policy. Could also at times be
forced into NYC.
If you're looking to get your foot into Trucking, Epes may be the place? If you
have a few years or more experience and come from a unrestricted Driving
environment, Epes will smoother you.
