Ive been in the lease purchase 2 years in oct. The running an money side isnt bad considering im in a '16 cascadia. My biggest complaint is getting to the house. Have jumped thru hoops for 2 years. Guess south texas isnt a hot freight lane for dart. Schneider even passed on my app today. Lol

A: Yes they pay per mile rate depends on which division you run in.
A:
OTR 1.00 per mile zip code to zip code
91 cent empty
A: I am on dedicated,we get 1.02 plus fuel loaded and mt

Fuel
surcharge is garbage now but with the discounts in fuel no complaints with
that.
Never coming down to walmart Brookhaven MS again, told them to make a note of it
sitting here two days now for an empty.
I didn't realize that you had to sit here and watch them put a trailer against
the dock and then go sit in front of it like you're claiming property.
########.
Not only that I sat for 21 hours on a dispatched load that came here and it
wasn't even ready and they're only going to pay me 11 hours detention. They
said they're going to pay me for my time here but I doubt it.
Trucks are castrated at 65 but after six months and an average of 10000 miles,
you can bump it up to 67.
Even at 65 mph my average is 6.3 miles per gallon. 2016 Freightliner dd13 ####s
all over itself up a hill even with an empty trailer. I won't even get into the
"on guard" crash avoidance system it's garbage.
Very few light loads everything seems to be 40000 + heaviest one I pulled, load
of beer 48000 + including dunnage.
Anything I pulled out of GP has been 44000, big rolls of paper no paper cups or
paper plates. P&G has lighter loads
I can go home and stay as long as I want but when you leave the house you don't
get paid empty miles.
If you stay too long and don't save settlements to pay for your
"rental" during your home time, when you leave out you will haul
freight for free until you catch up.
Maybe dedicated is ok but I've spoke with several them and they're not doing
much better. They have lost accounts.
Maybe things will get better if the freight picks up but with fuel prices as
low as they are, not anytime soon.

Hey everybody, this is Rookmon1 chimin' in on the TR about my time with Dart.
Been mad busy since I completed my training with a guy in their Nor-east
shorthaul last december, working 6 days a week non-stop, but finally will type
a report.
I'm a rookie driver: went with Dart above all because the job description i
found listed at indeed.com was offering to new drivers a home daily, 1000 bucks
a 5-day week (before taxes and deductions): plus i got roots in Minnesota where
they're based at. Compared to everything else i was considering at the time,
where i'd be out atleast 5 days a week, this was the best choice.
It's running for the big new P&G Dayton Mixing Center, typically doing
shuttles back and forth from their Lima manufacturing to Dayton/Vandalia, right
next to Dayton Intl Airport: I might get 1 or 2 loads going to customers in
Indiana or Kentucky in a week. Dart recently bought into the old Emery terminal
on the other side of the airport, and are almost ready to open their
maintenance garage there (Dart Safety Lane - DSL), where I imagine many trucks
and trailers will be brought there over time, saving a trip to Sellersburg or having
to hire outside of the company.
Everything was slow in coming, from the recruiting process to starting with the
new dedicated account - they kept me busy for 3 months running Ohio shorthaul -
but have eventually lived up to their word: albeit I work 6 days a week
(65-70hrs.) now in order to get over that $1000 a week measure - which is not
so great - but I am patiently doing my bid and toting my worth, expecting that
to improve quick enough.
Another thing I would add in is it is a challenge to make the 3 loads a day
within a 12 hour day, under the slipseat arrangement they want us to keep. Many
of us drive their CNG trucks which have to be refueled atleast once a day at
practically the same place every time, which eats up it's share of time in a
week. I see a lot of drivers still getting accustomed to the people-net cpu and
other stuff, while many I have talked to about it do not utilize Dart's
e-driver website / peoplenet online / and paperwork scanning using the
Ufollowit app on a smartphone, which makes things that much quicker and
easier....oh, and plug in a keyboard in the USB port in their trucks.
A: Another thing, slipseating is bogus (nothing against other drivers, but not all make good partners, either). I wish there was a way to score a truck of your own, seeing how often you wind up driving other trucks, not always being able to use most of your 14, or come back to your truck prepared the way you leave it, which alone would save multiple hours a week.

Good Luck..... no matter what you do just be patient. Patient with yourself and with the system. You made a wise choice staying on company side . That's comming from a Dart lease operator. Don't get me wrong it's the best company I've been with but you need to get a feel for the business and where freight lanes are located. I know people will tell you so called horror stories about leasing but they have no business acumen.I do it and do well. I will never own actruck outright nor would I ever want to do that. Even if I financed for just 2 years I would own after almist all warranty. As you know with trucks now way to many electronics and computer systems and def systems to fail. In tge 70's yeah would have owned because repairs and pm were simple but I was a teenager then.I suggest 2 years take note of freight lanes and listen to all the loudmouth COMPLAINING drivers so you can do the opposite of them and succeed. ENJOY YOUR NEW CAREER WISH YOU THE BEST

Still
here at Dart. Waiting to be loaded right now. The company treats me good. I
give my dispatcher respect
and i get it back. Deeons, if I remember correctly they have me a graduation
bonus. I remember not being disappointed with it. Ive been to Ohio a few times
in the last month. Mostly to the Dayton area. I have thought about asking g for
local or a relay thing but am concerned that it won't pay as well.
I know there are companies that pay better but it seems like I hear complaining
from there drivers. So far I am still happy with Dart.

I am at Dart as a lease op, I do not have a camera and my truck is governed at 65, which is fine for me as I get 7.5 mpg consistently

Q:
truckinfast,
can you have a choice of loads or do they forced dispatch? can you get 2800
plus miles in a week and what does your take home look like on that? Looking at
a 2013 or 2014 volvo670 with them. Just did a Celadon lease and
that was a joke, had to run 3300 miles a week just to get around $1000 take
home. need to be in the $1250 plus take home a week to be worth it. does this
look possible with dart? Thanks
A:
Jessup on national account you are given a preplan. You accept it if you like
it, turn it down if you don't. You do not have access to a load board to pick
and choose.
PM me with your number I can give you as much info as your looking for. I've
leased with them and owned 2 trucks since coming here in 07. It will be easier
on the phone. I've also left for greener pastures once only to come back.
That goes for anyone else looking for info. PM your number I will call you if
you like and try to the best of my ability to answer your questions.

Dart
is a good company except for the owner and his lobbying to get all trucks
turned down BS, other than that they are nice people.
You may not make any money but at least they don't cuss ya out, they will run
the hell out of ya tho. My truck stayed in the shop which in a way is good or
else I may have had to file Workman's compensation due to a bad back because
like I said they will run the hell out of ya!
As long as you run you truck slow or leave at the 62 mph by contract setting
you could make some money if ya got an iron butt and stamina to boot.
You turn down a load they'll mess with your head and you won't do it no more,
trust me...
As far as my pay I could have snagged about 40 bucks a day more if I got better
fuel mileage.
Now as far as the lease purchase its a gamble dude a real gamble because you
may be looking at a new truck at $500.00 a week just payment alone.
I once spoke to a young man who told me he went through their program and had a
nervous breakdown and his body was so wracked with stress he came down with
diabetes while in the hospital because he made no money.
Again nice folks but like the proverbial saying goes "###### rolls down
hill" and I think that's the problem with lease purchase programs and that
is to say the driver is at the bottom of the hill... Always!!!
It takes at least $1.75 a mile just to run a truck leas purchase will gross you
$1.31 average with fuel surcharge included.
And taxes you will need to set aside too 15.3 throw in a bunch of bad loads and
or weather and Uncle Insane's hearing aid just fell out.
Trust me I have and I'm still on the other side of the green pastures and all I
got was ###### on my shoes and Uncle Insane came to my house too!!! Lucky I
filed bankruptcy 13 or else I'd have those shinny bracelets on and a free
jumpsuit too.
Its your life but take it from me do the math numbers don't lie and many of
these people on this site are telling you the truth too. Go to a bank, beg
borrow, steal but whatever you do use ya head for more than a NASCAR hat!
