Excellent weekly home time. Office staff and dispatchers are very courteous and helpful, and someone will always answer your calls regardless of the hour/day. Guaranteed weekly minimum, plus incentives. Drivers restroom, showers, and lounge available at terminal 24/7.

Pros

Home time, guaranteed pay, equipment is very nice, staff are knowledgeable and easy to talk to. Holiday pay is good, benefits on the first after 30 days.

Cons

Guaranteed pay does not apply to weeks where you can’t run much (paid holidays) which is when we need the guarantee the most. Quite a bit of short runs in Chicagoland - 6 to 9 in a week, means you’re not likely to earn a lot more than the guarantee. Slow truck governed at 64/65 with PasSmart option, which is dangerous when you really need to pass someone doing 55 in a 70.

Everyone here is fair and honest. The hours are usually long but easy, no touch freight. I am home every evening at a decent hour and I really like my truck and the way our shop keeps it up and running.

Cox transfer really is the company most of us have been searching for! I've been driving trucks for 30 years, and this is the first company I've worked for that holds true to everything they said it would be! Been with them 1 year now and I still like them as much as I did when I started. Karl M

Pros

Good pay and benefits, new equipment. Cox also has excellent office and maintenance people who treat you with respect. Karl M

Cons

My only regreat with cox transfer is that I didn't come work for them sooner. Karl M.

I have been employed at Cox transfer for 10+ years and there has been a-lot of changes that have taken place from the old owner to the present owner. I would have to say all the major changes are for the better. Home time is a great plus for me personally as I like to spend the weekends with my family. Office personnel is very helpful and professional. They will do the best they can to accommodate your needs. Pay is competitive and you have an option of mileage pay or a salary if you want to take the stress out of the job. The maintenance department does a great job at maintaining the trucks and trailers.
