Started here as a new CDL driver. The training I received at their Auburn, ME terminal was amazing! The first 6 months on my own as a northeast regional driver went very well. Then, Bison started implementing huge changes, including a "driver pay restructure". This resulted in pay cuts for almost all employees (a few did get some modest pay raises), including a pay cut for myself of almost 10% from the pay rate that I was hired at. Trucks are well maintained, trailers not so much. Most "drivers" do not perform pre/post trips on trailers or report any issues for repair, which leaves any problems for the next guy to deal with. Zero accountability for those who refuse to do their job. I would say Bison is a decent company for new drivers to get the initial experience required to move on to better companies (which I did after 13 months).

Pros

Excellent training for new drivers (Auburn, Maine location)

Cons

Large company, junk trailers, zero accountability, ultimately drivers are nothing but a truck number, and/or business expense.

Was a great company when they were hartt transportation. Wanted to retire there. Worked around 14 years. Bison came along and ruined it all. Driver beware!!!!

Pros

None.

Cons

No hours. Or miles. Great if you want to sit and do nothing!!!!

I feel Bison needs better communication and better phone lines. And better miles for drivers who are runners. I like working there.

I have been very pleased with they way things are currently running. As a regional driver, I work 6 days a week and have no issues getting home consistently when I need to be. My miles have been great over the past 3 months, sitting in the range of 2300 - 2500 weekly. Dispatch and Planning have been great, and are always on top of what I need and can do. I would recommend Bison Transport USA to any driver looking for a change and a new career.

Pros

People are considerate and accommodating to driver needs Facilities and equipment are great
