Pros
There are none whatsoever. They will leave you stranded.
Cons
Nothing but cons. Trailers are all bad. Landing gear is so bad you need to use slow low gear most of the time. Tandem slides very bad on most trailers

I hired on with Abilene in June of this year. So far, they have treated me well. They have good equipment and all the trucks have auto shift transmissions. They have mostly Volvo VNL780s as well as a few Macks some Kenworths , Freightliners and Petes. So far, I like it here.

I thought I would add my experience with Abilene Motor Express so far...I would honestly say that 80% of the time I am pleased. The company has top notch newer trucks and trailers. (I drive a 2013 Volvo 780)
I average over 3k miles per week and they usually get me home on the day I request home time. I can stay out 1, 2, 3 weeks or more. It's up to me. I usually stay out 3 weeks and go home for 2 days...paid bi-weekly. PrePass/EZPASS.
I like the people here for the most part. The company is big enough to play in the big game but it is small enough that your not a number. Communication is my biggest hurdle with dispatch, but it is steadily improving. They always have freight needing delivered. A lot of NorthEast ( extra 10 cents/mi) and Midwest. Few dedicated runs and they are guarded by that driver! I primary run as far west as Colorado/Texas/Minnesota as a solo OTR.
I am currently looking to find a driver to team with.
Well I will update as I go along the Abilene journey...

Q: Hello I want to ask how long is the training for a new driver at Abilene Motor Express? Anyone that knows, please let me know. Thanks.
A: 3-6 months depending on your experience skill level. Good company, good equipment, excellent freight and miles. Good luck!!

I can tell you that Abilene has a great training program, and freight to match almost anyone to their home anywhere... Some of the other Abilene drivers can vouch for my expertise in this field... I would recommend Abilene to anyone starting out. If you can build a strong relationship with your trainer, and driver manager, the community and family environment will ensure your success.
